Voyageur Canoe Tours
Join the North West Voyageur Company for a trip into Canada’s storied past by paddling an authentic voyageur canoe around the local lakes of Sun Peaks Resort. Guests will be reminded of what it took to create this country they are traveling through. Guests will be able to experience the John Tod Fur Trading Museum to see and feel real beaver pelts, and get an up close look at an actual map David Thompson created over 200 years ago. These are just a couple of artefacts featured in our lakeside museum. Our local lakes are home to resident osprey, bald eagles, loons, beaver, and thousands of trout. The lakes are also home to moose, bear, and even cougars all of which are frequently spotted. Through this completely non-strenuous trip guests will receive great insight into how this nation was explored, discovered, and eventually established.
