What is ISO 14001?
ISO 14001 is the environmental management system (EMS) standard for the International Organization for Standardization. The standard provides a systematic approach to managing the significant aspects and allows company management to establish environmental policies and objectives through the allocation of resources, training, assigning of roles and responsibilities, and modifying practices, procedures and processes.

Core elements of the ISO EMS system are based on the principle of Plan-Do-Check-Act and the concept of continual improvement. Once the EMS is certified, the company must demonstrate continual improvement to the system to maintain certification in good standing.
