The 2012-2013 winter season will see Sun Peaks Resort and Adaptive Sports at Sun Peaks host the annual CADS Festival once again. During the week of March 24-31, 2013, future paralympians from all across Canada will gather at Sun Peaks Resort for the CADS Festival - a week encompassing two major events.
The CADS Ski Improvement and Race Development Program.
This event is for upcoming para-alpine skiers. Over 100 athletes with a disability of all ages and abilities will hit the slopes for ski improvement and racing development sessions. These individuals are the future generation of adaptive sport athletes and people to watch for on the podium in the years to come. Instructor training and recreational races for athletes, instructors and family members are also part of the weeks activities.
The Canadian National Para-Alpine Championships
Top para-alpine racers from across Canada and other nations compete for top honors before the 2014 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games in Sochi Russia.

The movie was designed to increase awareness, participation and opportunity in adaptive sports across the world. It tells the story of five individuals who faced incredible obstacles and through skiing, have discovered or rediscovered the freedom of movement.All proceeds support the Adaptive Sports at Sun Peaks (ASSP) program, making the mountain accessible to all.
Toonie Races on SunbeamDate: Wednesday March 27Time: 3.00pm to 6.00pmLocation: Platter lift areaCost: $2 each per race Join the Adaptive Sports at Sun Peaks (ASSP) students, their instructors and guests from the CADS Festival for a fun, open format slalom race that everyone can enjoy. Penguin racing suits available. Make it a family affair and ski with your kids. Only $2 each per race to enter and all proceeds go to ASSP, which supports skiers/boarders with a disability. Bring your cowbells and cheer them on.
CADS Festival Guesstimation Slalom RaceDate: Thursday March 28Time: 10.00amLocation: Slopeside Village Day LodgeCost: complimentaryCheer on the many skiers/snowboarders with a disability and their Instructors visiting from all over Canada for the CADS Festival. Bring your cowbells, and yell and cheer as they race down the gates. This race celebrates their week of adaptive lessons here at Sun Peaks.
