Did you ever want to sew for the weekend (or in this case a couple of weekdays) with like-minded quilters and have an instructor ready to answer your questions, help you with problems and give you ideas on how to finish your quilt(s)?
Dianne Jansson is our guest teacher again this year for the annual Sun Peaks Quilting in the Mountains’ Quilt Retreat and Workshop.
After attaining a degree in Home Economics in Australia, Dianne taught textiles at the secondary level in Australia and Canada. Dianne’s interest in fabrics eventually led her to quilting, and for the past 20 years this has been her passion. Dianne has attended conferences and workshops in Canada, U.S., and Australia, and studied with many international quilt instructors.
Currently Dianne teaches workshops for guilds and shops throughout B.C., Alberta, and the Northwest Territories. She has also taught in Australia, Iceland and U.S.A. Technique, rather than artistic design, is the basis in most of Dianne's machine piecing workshop, with students encouraged to adapt the designs to suit their own needs. Dianne believes that the quilting process is meant to be a pleasurable activity.

Bring quilt tops that still need borders and raid your stash for fabric to sew samples of various designs. If you don’t have any finished quilt tops, bring whatever you are working on. Enjoy two days of sewing. Knowing that if you run into problems or lack of inspiration, Dianne is ready to help you.
