Sun Peaks, BC - Concert goers at Sun Peaks will have the chance to get up close to one of the most celebrated rock artists in Canadian music history this summer! At the Burton Cummings free outdoor concert on July 13, guests can relive the era of epic rock music, including classic hits of The Guess Who together with songs from Burton’s solo career, all within a few feet of the stage in a special Front Stage Access area with limited tickets which are now available.
“We are very excited to welcome such a high calibre performer to Sun Peaks to kick off our second year of the highly anticipated summer concert series,” says Christopher Nicolson, president of Tourism Sun Peaks. “Cummings’ live performances are legendary and we are looking forward reminiscing on a great time in Canadian music while giving the younger generations a chance to experience it all live.”
General Access to the concert is free – no ticket required - and guests are welcome to view the performance in the natural alpine amphitheatre on Sunbeam ski run. For prime viewing closest to the stage, a limited number of Front Stage Access tickets are available for $50 each, or at a discounted rate when combined with an overnight stay.
Front Stage Access tickets are free when combined with two nights’ accommodation or $35 each when combined with one nights’ accommodation, maximum two tickets per booking. These tickets are forecast to sell out early so guests are encouraged to secure tickets and best availability by going online to or by calling Sun Peaks Central Reservations at 1-800-807-3257.

The first concert of the 2013 Summer Concert Series, guests can look forward to a festival-like atmosphere, similar to last summer’s record setting free concerts. It will be an afternoon of exciting live performances, with all the convenient amenities of Sun Peaks’ village, such pubs, restaurants, shopping and hotels, only steps away from the concert venue.

While visitors can expect to enjoy performances all afternoon into the early evening, opening acts and specific set times will be announced in the coming weeks.
To enjoy the concert in comfort, guests are asked to bring blankets or lawn chairs and to dress appropriately for the potentially cooler weather of a mountain setting. Bug spray, sun screen and sturdy footwear are also recommended. While parking is free, day visitors are asked to carpool to conserve parking spaces and to be environmentally friendly.
