The First-Ever Dew Tour AM Series makes its debut in Sun Peaks, Fuelled by Mountain Dew
March 12, 2014: Free concert on Saturday night featuring The Sheepdogs
Sun Peaks, BC - Sun Peaks is excited to welcome the first Dew Tour AM Series (DTAS), Canada’s premier amateur ski and snowboard slopestyle event,  from March 27 to 29, 2014. DTAS is focused on recognizing and rewarding top amateur athletes with a cash purse of $20,000 CAD amongst Men and Women equally, as well as a VIP trip to the Dew Tour in Breckenridge, Colorado for all of 1st place finishers.

Recent slopestyle competitions have proven to be an exciting spectator sport for all ages. At Sun Peaks, this competition will be easily viewed from the base of Sundance Chairlift, looking onto the nine acre Rockstar Terrain Park that feeds right into the village. The weekend will also feature a variety of activities, including Mountain Dew sampling, on-the-spot prizing, live DJs and a free outdoor concert on Saturday, March 29th featuring the Juno-award-winning rock band, The Sheepdogs.
The slope style course will feature three rail features and three jump features. The rail features will be located at the top of the course and will have two options of rails of varying difficulty to select. Association of Freeskiing Professionals (AFP) will supply Silver accredited judges for ski, and World Snowboard Tour will supply 4-star accredited judges for snowboard.

There will be 80 qualifier spots for both ski and snowboard athletes who reside in North America and are looking to elevate their status and recognition in Canada. The top ten men and top five women per sport will advance to the finals and join ten invited men and five invited women respectively – for a total of 20 male and ten female finalists per sport.

The weekend will also include a Rail Jam open to boys and girls 13 to 16 for both snowboard and ski. The Rail Jam is designed for younger beginner and intermediate snowboard and ski athletes seeking to gain competitive experience.
