Austrian Coaches Arrive at Sun Peaks Resort
November 18, 2010: Sun Peaks, BC – Two coaches from the Austrian Ski Federation arrive at Sun Peaks Resort today to begin inspecting training course preparations prior to the team arriving on Saturday.

Athletes from both the Austrian and Swiss women’s ski teams will be arriving on Saturday to begin their early season training at the BC Interior resort. The women will be training on the OSV Run on Tod Mountain, which stands for Österreichischer Skiverband (Austrian Ski Federation).

Mountain Operations crews from Sun Peaks Resort Corporation have been working around the clock making snow and ensuring that OSV is in top form for the world class athletes to begin their training.

2010 marks the 6th year ski team members from Austria have used Sun Peaks as their North American Training Centre prior to the opening of the World Cup Circuit.

The Austrian Women continue to dominate in the alpine ski circuit, with Marlies Schild winning the first women’s World Cup slalom of the season last weekend in Levi, Finland.
