World-renowned Ecosign Mountain Resort Planners, famous for resorts such as Whistler-Blackcomb, designed Sun Peaks Resort. Experienced resort developer and owner, Nippon Cable, has maintained a steadfast commitment to their overall plan and vision for Sun Peaks Resort - To provide the finest mountain resort experience.
In the 10 years since Nippon Cable purchased the resort, they have made unfaltering capital investment to pursue their vision. Phase I of the master-plan was completed in 2003 with the opening of the four-star Delta Sun Peaks Hotel bringing the resort bed total to over 5800; also, the third mountain opened (two more to follow over the next three phases); and Sun Peaks became the second largest resort in British Columbia in terms of skiable terrain.
Phase II of the master plan launched in 2004 with Nippon Cable investing $11-million in capital expenditures and creating a total estimated value of projects worth $285-million for 2004. One of the major focuses of development for Phase II is Sun Peaks' second village - the East Village.
