Discover the beauty of Sun Peaks’ alpine meadows, peaks, and lakes with our experienced guides. Learn about local flora and fauna amidst incredible views and refreshing mountain air. While at Sun Peaks, you can choose from a multitude of tours to suit your experience and fitness level. Guided tours are offered daily, and tour times are customizable. 48 hour advance reservations are required for all guided hiking tours. All tours start and finish at the Village Day Lodge. Please note that the foot passenger lift ticket needed to ride the Sunburst Chairlift is not included in the guided hiking tour rates.

Bear Tracks 'Eco Tour' This eco walk allows you to explore the natural environment of the Black Bears that inhabit Sun Peaks. Join one of our experienced local interpretive guides, and learn about the bears’ behaviours, habitat, winter survival adaptations, and what to do when one encounters a bear. Included is a stop at our camp for a drink and cookies and to see our collection of informative bear displays.

Great Elevations The breathtaking alpine and valley views from the top of Tod Mountain with a visit to Tod Lake along the way make this a hike that’s well worth the workout! Bask in nature’s paradise over a healthy picnic lunch and make sure to add a rock to the cairn at the peak. This is the most challenging hiking tour offered at Sun Peaks, but a great way to see the area. The rate for the Great Elevations tour includes a picnic lunch.

Tod Lake Trek A challenging hike to the Top of the World and out to Tod Lake provides an excellent opportunity to experience the best of Sun Peaks alpine hiking. Once at Tod Lake if hikers wish they can take the plunge into the alpine lake to cool off. The rate for the Tod Lake Trek tour includes a picnic lunch.
