The yearly Reach the Peak hike to the summit of Mt. Tod has become a summer Sun Peaks tradition and a key part of the line up for our annual Alpine Blossom Festival.
Led by local (and Canadian) legend Nancy Greene and an enthusiastic group of volunteer guides from throughout the community, the hike includes stunning vistas, gorgeous wildflower meadows, and the satisfaction of topping out on the 2,152m (7,060') peak of the tallest mountain in the area.
This past Saturday we counted over 60 hikers who joined the coveted list of 'summiteers' by conquering Mt. Tod and signing the logbook, ranging in age from one and a half all the way up to 92!
We've put together some of our favourite photos from the day, so scroll down to relive the fun.
Missed Reach the Peak? Don't worry, there's plenty of hiking left in Sun Peaks this summer! The Sunburst chairlift is open for lift-access hiking from 10:00am to 7:00pm daily until September 3, then for bonus weekends September 7 to 9 and September 14 to 16.
