Hikes in the alpine

Please adhere to the tips and rules listed below and share with others the responsibility for a safe outdoor experience.

Tips for Safe hiking

  1. Never hike alone.
  2. Tell someone your plans and when you expect to return.
  3. The temperature is always cooler in the mountains and weather can change quickly, so plan and dress accordingly.
  4. Bring plenty of water, food, sunscreen, a watch, and bug spray.
  5. Always pack a whistle. Three short whistle blasts means that you are in trouble and need assistance.
  6. Please stay on marked hiking trails and tread lightly on our alpine ecosystem.
  7. Hiking is not permitted on Bike Park trails.
  8. Take a hiking trail map with you, or save it electronically on your cell phone.
  9. Be aware of your surroundings by looking around and taking note of landmarks that can help your navigation.
  10. When encountering animals, never approach or feed them, and make plenty of noise.
