Update: August 23, 2023

Sun Peaks remains open for regular business operations. The provincial government has now rescinded the order banning non-essential travel into many of the impacted fire zones and guests are encouraged to once again visit destinations such as Sun Peaks. We continue to host and support evacuees from various surrounding communities and remain ready to assist further if circumstances require.

Retro concert weekend in Sun Peaks is a go! Please check the schedule for updates to performers and times. There may be further adjustments as required to accommodate changing conditions. Full details can be found here.

We continue to closely monitor the wildfire situation. Rain from yesterday has helped and we are hopeful for positive weather conditions in the coming days. Smoke levels may still be present and extra precautions should be taken.

For up-to-date wildfire status, please visit the BC Wildfire Service website.

Due to present circumstances, we will continue to offer cancellations, credits, or rebooking options for mountain guests requiring them. Please contact our Guest Services team for further information or complete an online Cancellation Request Form.

We will also continue to adjust as necessary moving forward. Stay tuned to this page for any required updates.

We continue to monitor the current wildfire situation in the interior of British Columbia. At this time, Sun Peaks is not under immediate threat but the situation may change quickly and we encourage everyone to stay informed. We are currently supporting others impacted from nearby communities while regular Sun Peaks Resort operations are still running as scheduled. Smoke levels may be present and extra precautions should be taken. If conditions change, we will communicate additional information.

For up-to-date wildfire status, please visit the BC Wildfire Service website.

The provincial government has introduced an order banning non-essential travel into impacted fire zones. The purpose of the order is to free up hotel type accommodation for evacuees and essential response personnel, while also keeping travel routes clear and reducing the burden on important services. Sun Peaks is not a primary location for these purposes, but all travelers should be aware of present circumstances and impacts to upcoming plans.

While regular operations are still in place at Sun Peaks, we are offering cancellations, credits, or rebooking options for mountain guests requiring them due to present circumstances. Please contact our Guest Services team for further information or complete an online Cancellation Request Form.

Our thoughts are with all those impacted during these difficult times. We will adjust as needed to best support our guests, staff, and communities as the situation evolves. A massive thank you to all crews for their dedication to protecting and fighting for our province at this time.

Additional updates will follow as required.
