Spring skiing in Sun Peaks

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Sun Peaks, BC (March 12, 2024): Sun Peaks Resort, Canada’s second largest ski area, is offering season pass holders from any ski area, anywhere in the world, 50% off skiing to close out the 2023/24 winter season.

For two weeks, from March 25 to April 7 (closing day), skiers and snowboarders with a valid alpine season pass just need to show their pass, ID, and proof of purchase at Sun Peaks Guest Services to receive this massive discount on lift tickets. The discount is also offered to multi-resort pass holders from any company worldwide.

“We couldn’t think of a better way to close out the season, then by offering an accessible discount to entice skiers and riders from other areas to visit us this spring,” says Christina Antoniak, Sun Peaks Resort’s Director of Communications. “This can be paired with some fantastic accommodation deals, like 35% off at the Sun Peaks Grand Hotel, which is Sun Peaks’ premiere hotel property. Village retailers are now blowing out inventory up to 70% off, so all around it’s the perfect time to stay, dine, and shop while taking your last turns of the season.”

Officials with Sun Peaks Resort are pleased with how Spring skiing conditions are shaping up. The alpine snow base sits at 5.5 feet/170 cm and a foot of snow has fallen this month already. With less than four weeks remaining in the 2023/24 ski season the resort is preparing for an influx of visitors over Spring break, running for the last two weeks of March for most of the Province. Bluebird days, patio après and fun events are just around the corner and will be enjoyed by thousands of guests.

The spring skiing atmosphere is synonymous with events and there’s no shortage of fun filled entertainment both on and off mountain. Highlights include the new Sip, Savour & Ski Festival, March 28-31 and Wonder Weekend, April 6-7.

Tourism Sun Peaks’ Executive Director, Naomi Kerchinsky, says they’re excited to have partnered with Brewhalla Beer & Music Festivals of the lower mainland, in presenting Sip, Savour & Ski Festival’s signature event, A Taste of Brewhalla, on March 30th. “We wanted to amplify the already vibrant spring culture in the village and this event brings together craft beverage tastings, artisanal food, fun games, and music. It’s one of eight unique events over the festival weekend, from wine and cider pairing events, the hot chocolate hop (for all ages), and so much more.”

Not to be missed is the return of closing weekend’s Wonder Weekend, including the ever-popular Slush Cup, Retro Days, Snow Way Down Bike Slalom, and Top to Bottom’s Run. The Terrain Park will also be bustling in March with The Garden Party Rail Jam (March 17), ‘What the Huck’ Knuckle Huck & Rail Jam (March 22), BC Snowboard Grom Series (March 26)and Elleboard Ladies Snowboard Camp (March 27)
