A colder, patchy moist, and somewhat unstable airmass will lie over the resort area for the next couple of days. Daytime heating, from a strengthening March sun, will generate convective clouds during the afternoons, capable of producing locally heavy flurries. Due to the brevity of the flurries, amounts should be limited to light. With the colder airmass in place, temperatures on the slopes will remain well below zero with overnight lows in the minus 10 to minus 15 range. Temperatures at the village level will approach, but likely not exceed zero, during the afternoon hours. Wind this morning will be brisk, from the W to NW with gusts to 40 in the alpine, then ease to light late this afternoon.
Wednesday to Friday: A seasonally cool westerly flow aloft will persist over southern BC through the outlook period. Weak disturbances in the flow have the potential to bring light snow or flurry activity to the resort all three days, with minimal amounts expected at this time. Temperatures at mid-mountain will remain well below 0°C, while highs in the village will be near, but likely just below zero, all three days.
