Synopsis

A dry, cool northwest flow aloft will continue today, bringing us one last day of sunny skies. On Monday, the upper flow is forecast to weaken and become westerly as an offshore upper ridge weakens and slowly moves eastward towards the province. This should result in increased cloud cover and slightly milder temperatures as a Pacific airmass slowly begins to infiltrate the area.  Winds will remain very light over the lower slopes, while occasionally gusty winds persist in the high alpine.

Extended Outlook

Tuesday to Thursday: The flow aloft is now forecast to become southwesterly as the offshore ridge moves over the province on Tuesday and then drifts slowly eastward on Wednesday and Thursday.  The flow will bring variable cloudy cover and milder temperatures. There is still no sign of significant snowfall until possibly Thursday, when some models are forecasting a Pacific front to bring a light snowfall to the area.
