Childminding at Sundance Kids Centre
Enjoy your day on the mountain while your little one has a fun-filled day of their own. Sundance Kids Centre offers full-day childminding for children ages 3 to 5, with indoor play, crafts, games and outdoor activities when weather permits. Private ski and snowboard lessons can also be added to your child’s day.

Hours: Daily, 9:00am to 4:00pm

Full-day rate: $139 (childminding only)
Location: Base of the Sunburst Express chairlift
Childminding Limits
We exclusively offer full-day packages to ensure appropriate supervision ratios. As a licensed Occasional Child Care provider, we can provide a maximum of:
- 8 hours per child, per day; and
- 40 hours of care per child within a 30-day period
Time spent in pre-booked ski or snowboard lessons does not count toward these limits. Bookings that exceed these limits will be adjusted in accordance with the British Columbia Child Care Licensing Regulation.

Advance reservations are strongly recommended, especially during holiday periods. Complete the registration form and email it to Sports School at sportschool@sunpeaksresort.com.

What You'll Need at Check-in
Parents or guardians must present the following:
- Proof of medical coverage
- Your child's health insurance number
- Completed registration form
These items are required under provincial child care licensing regulations. Photocopies are acceptable.

Childminding Programs
Save when you book multiple days: Book three days and save 5%, or book five days and save 10%. Multi-day discounts are available for bookings made by phone or in person and do not apply to lessons.

Childminding with Private Lesson Add-Ons
Sun Tots programs are offered seven days a week for young skiers and snowboarders ages 3 to 5. Children ages 5 and under receive a free lift ticket, and tot equipment rentals can be added to any lesson for just $30 plus tax (excluding the damage waiver).

Sundance Kids Centre FAQs
What are the daily activities at Sundance Kids Centre?
We enjoy group games, crafts, and active play. If the weather permits, we will bundle up warmly and enjoy some outdoor time. There are scheduled times for morning snacks and lunch, as well as quiet time in the afternoon. Children enrolled in pre-booked lessons will follow the same schedule, with adjusted timings if necessary.
Why is there a limit on short-term childminding?
We are a licensed facility providing Occasional Child Care, and as such, our maximum hours of care are regulated by the British Columbia Community Care and Assisted Living Act - Child Care Licensing Regulation. We can offer a maximum of 40 hours of childcare within a 30-day period per child. For example, a ‘maximum hours’ booking without lessons would be 5 days (35 hours total). Please contact us if you are unsure whether your booking aligns with these limits.
Do you provide food?
We do not have a food program, but we do offer refrigerators for food storage. We request that parents/guardians provide a healthy packed lunch and snacks for the day. Alternatively, parents/guardians may sign their child out of the facility to join them for lunchtime between 12:00pm and 1:00pm. Please note that we are a nut-free facility.
What should I bring for my child?
Parents/guardians should provide their child with warm layers and suitable footwear for outdoor time, as well as any equipment and clothing required for pre-booked ski/snowboard lessons. Since we often engage in painting, crafts, and sensory play, please dress your child accordingly. We kindly request that children do not bring personal belongings or electronic devices, as we have plenty of planned activities throughout the day.
Does my child need to be toilet trained?
Yes. All children registered at the Sundance Kids Centre must be able to use the washroom independently.
