Sun Peaks is a mountain biking destination that keeps things simple. Big riding. Easy pace. Lift-accessed laps, a community trail network, and laid-back valley paths back to the village. Everything connects. Nothing feels rushed.
With over 84 kilometres of lift-accessed bike park trails and more riding beyond the park, this is where you can put in big days, then slow down and let summer settle in.
Trail building began here in 1999, shaped by the freeride movement in nearby Kamloops. That spirit still shows up in steep, raw singletrack and iconic technical lines on Tod Mountain like Insanity One, Gnar-Boom and Smitty’s Steeps, but the mountain experience has evolved. Today, Sun Peaks is built for progression, with terrain that welcomes new riders and keeps experienced ones chasing that next perfect lap.
Across two mountains of riding, classic singletrack blends with flowing, machine-built trails. Sundance Mountain, opened in 2022, adds space to breathe, flow trails to settle into, and gentler grades that make riding feel accessible and fun. Explore mellow trails like Easy Wind and Morning Dew, then keep rolling as confidence builds. Fewer crowds mean more laps, more flow, and more moments where everything clicks. No pressure. No judgement. Just ride.
The Progression Park keeps it simple, with a carpet lift and confidence-building terrain that helps riders ease into downhill mountain biking. Sports School offers camps, lessons, and tours to help dial things in, build skills, and unlock flow.
Beyond the lifts, the Sun Peaks Recreational Trail Association (SPRTA) has built a network of free, pedal-access trails on Mt. Morrisey. Forested climbs and flowing descents connect into the valley, while paved and singletrack village routes lead toward destinations like the west end of the village and McGillivray Lake. This is where locals ride with friends and families, and where visitors start to feel part of everyday mountain life.
Some places shout. Sun Peaks invites you in. This summer feels like the right time to answer.

Spend the day riding Kamloops’ iconic trails, then roll back into Sun Peaks, a place to reset, recharge, and get ready to do it all again tomorrow.
