Giving Tuesd-eh: Local Giving, the Canadian Way
The “eh” in Giving Tuesd-eh is a nod to the Canadian community at the heart of this annual Sun Peaks tradition. It’s a day to support local non-profit organizations whose work makes our mountain community stronger. Behind those organizations are neighbours who give countless volunteer hours to community groups, clubs and associations.
This year, Giving Tuesd-eh falls on Tuesday, October 13. Choose a local organization that matters to you (or more!) and make a donation by that date. Tourism Sun Peaks will match donations up to a set maximum, helping your gift go even further.

Adaptive sports at sun peaks
This Thanksgiving, you can double your impact while giving back to the community we all love. From October 1–13, every dollar you donate to Adaptive Sports at Sun Peaks (ASSP) during our 2026 Giving Tuesd-eh campaign will be matched by Tourism Sun Peaks.
ASSP is a charitable, not-for-profit organization powered by dedicated volunteers, providing accessible outdoor adventures for individuals living with disabilities.
With support from the 2025 Giving Tuesd-eh campaign, we purchased new headsets to improve communication between instructors and students across a variety of programs. We also purchased roll bars for our adaptive mountain bikes, adding another level of safety for students as they explore the trails.
This year, your donations will help support our instructors’ ongoing training and development. Continued learning helps our volunteers build their skills, stay engaged, and deliver safe, accessible and enjoyable experiences for our students. Looking ahead to 2027, we also hope to grow our summer adaptive mountain biking programs through instructor training, new equipment and ongoing bike maintenance.
To us, Giving Tuesd-eh represents another barrier being broken down and an opportunity for our community’s non-profits to come together. It takes a village to build and sustain these programs, and we are grateful to be part of a community that supports this work.

Support from Giving Tuesd-eh 2025 helped ArtZone Sun Peaks deliver workshops, children’s programming, exhibitions and community arts activities throughout the year. Your generosity helped cover the costs of instructors, artists and supplies, keeping creative experiences accessible for residents and visitors while giving local artists opportunities to share their work.

Sun peaks EDUCATION SOCIETY/SUN peaks Mountain Academy
Founded in 2010, the Sun Peaks Education Society (SPES) is dedicated to promoting and delivering flexible, diverse, community-based education in Sun Peaks. In 2026, SPES is participating in Giving Tuesd-eh for the first time, raising funds to help Sun Peaks Mountain Academy (SPMA) students learn beyond the classroom.
Your donation will support extracurricular and hands-on learning opportunities connected to tourism, outdoor education and mountain-community life. These may include alpine fitness, avalanche safety, first aid, culinary experiences, art, trades exposure and school trips, helping students build practical skills and explore future career paths.
Funds raised will help bring local professionals into students’ learning experiences, provide access to specialized programs and support workplace visits and community activities. By connecting with local businesses and experts, students can discover new interests, build confidence and see how their studies relate to the world around them.
Every contribution helps turn these opportunities into meaningful experiences, strengthening students’ sense of belonging while inviting our community to play an active role in supporting the next generation.
Sun Peaks FREESTYLE CLUB
As our ski and snowboard programs grow more in-depth and comprehensive, so do the costs of delivering them. Your generous donation helps keep program fees accessible by covering coaching, facility costs, and coach development—ensuring our athletes receive the best training possible.
Our athletes proudly represent Sun Peaks at regional, provincial, and national competitions each season. With your support, they can continue to thrive, compete, and showcase the strength of our community.
SPFC isn’t just about tricks—it builds confidence, resilience, creativity, friendships and a lifelong love of sport. Through training and competition, athletes develop commitment, perseverance, and teamwork—skills that carry on long after the snow melts.

Sun Peaks HISTORICAL SOCIETY
The Sun Peaks Historical Society (SPHS) is a non-profit Society created for the purpose of preserving and celebrating the unique history, stories and culture of Sun Peaks and its surrounding areas. The SPHS will achieve this mandate through programming that harnesses the power of community engagement, inclusivity and knowledge sharing.
The SPHS will achieve its mandate through its Archives Program, which will include an Oral History Program, Community Timeline Project, and Digital and Physical Archives with Records, Artifacts and our Educational Collection - much of which will be accessible on the website.
Sun Peaks Historical Society is raising money for the Tod Mountain Herders Cabin restoration project. The cabin is Sun Peaks' oldest historical structure and built by a local cattle association in the late 1940s. This summer, Sun Peaks Historical Society was awarded $5000 from HeritageBC Legacy Fund. The money allowed SPHS to hire HeritageWorks, an international conservation company, to conduct a survey of the cabin and site. The Board is requesting funds for Directors Insurance. We are also asking to the community to donate funds for materials, labour and other expenses.

Sun Peaks School Parent Advisory Council (PAC)
The Sun Peaks School PAC is the voice of parents within our school community, working closely with teachers and staff to enhance the educational experience for every student. Beyond acting as a bridge between families and the school, we actively fundraise to provide opportunities that enrich student life both in and out of the classroom. Thanks to community support, we’ve been able to sponsor in-school programs like snowshoeing, Jess Dance, Avalanche Safety Training (AST-1), and team uniforms, while also hosting fun events that bring families together.
This year, our primary fundraising goal is to purchase a much-needed bike rack for our unique mountainside campus—supporting the active, outdoor lifestyle that defines Sun Peaks. Every dollar raised on Giving Tuesday will go even further, as Tourism Sun Peaks has generously committed to matching donations. Your contribution directly invests in the well-being, safety, and joy of local students—help us keep our school community thriving!

sun peaks recreational trail association (SPRTA)
The Sun Peaks Recreational Trail Association was formed in 2014. Our goal is to promote a healthy community lifestyle, as well as the appreciation of our environment, through the maintenance and development of free to use recreational trails in the Sun Peaks area. We are currently focused on mountain bike trails, but in the future we are keen to expand into advocating for trails suitable to other outdoor activities such as hiking and snowshoeing. The trail network in Sun Peaks has a huge amount of untapped potential and we want to take it to the next level!
While we work closely with both Sun Peaks Resort LLP and the Sun Peaks Mountain Resort Municipality, we are an independent, non-profit volunteer organisation with the goal of creating free to access trails for everyone in the community to enjoy.
Sun Peaks SKATE PARK FOUNDATION
The Sun Peaks Skate Park Foundation's sole mandate is designing, building and maintaining a high quality, world-class, free use skate park within the municipal boundary of the Sun Peaks Mountain Resort Municipality.
We are a charitable organization dedicated to providing a safe, inclusive and dynamic space where individuals of all ages and ability can come together and skate, connect and thrive. We believe in the power of skateboarding to foster creativity, confidence and camaraderie among our community members and visitors alike.
After a 14-year community effort, the finish line for the Sun Peaks Skatepark is finally in sight—but we still have a long way to go to fully fund construction. This Giving Tuesd-eh, our $10,000 goal is another huge step towards our finish line. Every contribution matters, and every dollar raised this October brings us one step closer to breaking ground on a safe, world-class park for our youth and families.

sun peaks BEAR AWARE
Sun Peaks Bear Aware is a non-profit organization founded by a group of dedicated volunteers in the spring of 2022. Through education, information and community engagement we aim to minimize human-bear conflicts, creating an environment where people and bears can coexist successfully here at Sun Peaks.
This year funds raised throughout the Giving Tuesd-eh campaign will be directed to two causes:
Direct Wildlife Care & Rehabilitation: Directing vital funds toward the essential care and re-wilding preparation for two orphaned Sun Peaks black bear cubs currently under the care of Northern Lights Wildlife Society. This initiative provides a tangible opportunity to invest in local wildlife protection while highlighting the critical importance—and real consequences—of proactive human-bear coexistence in Sun Peaks.
Digital Infrastructure: Supporting the design and launch of the Sun Peaks Bear Aware Society’s inaugural website to expand public education, improve access to local resources, and strengthen community engagement.
Community Association of Whitecroft
For years, the Community Association of Whitecroft has dreamed of creating a park and playground where families from Whitecroft, Sun Peaks, and Heffley can gather, play and make memories. In 2026, we’re participating in Giving Tuesd-eh for the first time to help bring that dream to life.
A generous donation on behalf of the family of Nanci Wilson has provided the Community Association of Whitecroft and the Whitecroft Water Society with land for the project. Named Nanci Wilson Park in honour of this gift, the planned park will include a fenced playground, a covered concrete space for community events, a sports area for basketball and ball hockey, and a pump track.
With an estimated cost of $400,000 across three construction phases, community support will help move the project forward. This year, your Giving Tuesd-eh donation will go towards supplies and playground equipment needed for the next phase of development.

Sun PEaks NORDIC CLUB
Established to promote and encourage participation in the sport of cross country skiing, the Nordic Club offers programs for junior skiers, special coaching for mature students, and social outings with tips provided.
The Sun Peaks Nordic Club started as a small club that has managed to gain momentum and attract children to this centuries old sport. With both classic and skate skiing available the club offers children a variety of learning techniques in this beautiful mountainous terrain.
The club must continuously raise funds in order to purchase new equipment for the children's program as well as to support coaches that volunteer coaching 40 children every Saturday through the winter. The club also offers coaching to adult members and hosts weekly ski challenges through the year, with a small prize offered for winners of the challenge.
The Sun Peaks Nordic Club continues to strive for skiing excellence and advocating for cross country skiing in the community .
Funds from this campaign will go towards youth enhancement.
