Sun Peaks Golf Course Terms and Conditions

Below, you will find the Golf Members Agreement, Golf Players Agreement, Liquor Policy, and Golf Release Agreement.

Booking Terms & Conditions:

  • Children under six years old are not permitted on the course. Players aged 6–14 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • A valid email and credit card are required for booking.
  • In the event of changes or cancellations, the profile associated with the booking will be responsible for the following fees:
    • Prior day: $40 plus applicable taxes per person.
    • Same day: 100% of the green fee plus applicable taxes per person.
  • Pairings will be made at the discretion of the pro shop; singles will be paired up.
  • Please arrive 30 minutes before your tee time and check in all players at the pro shop.
  • Please arrive at the first tee 10 minutes before your tee time; all players must start from the first tee.
  • Maximum of four players per tee-time. Each player must have their own set of clubs.
  • Non-golfers (riders or walkers accompanying golfers) are only permitted with advance permission, when possible, and subject to a fee. A cart or seat is not guaranteed for riding along.

Conduct:

  • Dogs, recreational walkers, and cyclists are not permitted on the course at any time.
  • Grounds crew and player assistants have the right-of-way until you are acknowledged and directed to play through.
  • Abuse of staff and other players will not be tolerated. You may be asked to leave without a refund.
    Groups are not permitted to gather on the last hole to wait for other players. Return equipment immediately after completion of round.
  • Listen to and respect the player assistants, as they help ensure an enjoyable experience and maintain the pace of play.

Rental Equipment – Power Carts & Golf Clubs:

  • The person renting equipment is liable and will be charged for all observed damage caused to the cart, clubs, or course while under their care.
  • Must be 19+ with a credit card to rent equipment.
  • Power cart rules:
    • A valid driver’s license is required to operate a power cart.
    • Juniors 16-18 years of age  must always be accompanied by someone over 19 in the cart, who will assume responsibility and liability.
    • Juniors under 16 years of age are not permitted to drive power carts
    • Maximum of two riders per cart. Riding on the back of the cart is not permitted.
  • Return cart and club rentals prior to shop closing hours (see daily shop operation hours).

Pace of Play:

  • In the interest of all players, please keep pace with the group ahead (within one shot).
    • Ensure the group in front is clearly out of range before making a shot.
  • As a reference, 2 hours 10 minutes per 9 holes shall be used.
  • 8:00am to 10:00am tee times: groups are expected to complete 9 holes in 2 hours 5 minutes or less.
  • Play from handicap appropriate tees.
  • Play “ready golf” – be ready to play when it is your shot.
  • Take the clubs you might need for your next shot (e.g., wedge and putter on approach to green).
  • If playing with newer golfers or falling behind, consider playing best-ball or scramble format.

Alcohol & Smoking: 

  • Outside alcohol is not permitted and will be confiscated as per liquor licensing.
  • Personal coolers (or any type of food and beverage storage devices) are not permitted on the course. Golf carts are provided with a cooler and ice for your convenience.
    • Violators may have playing privileges suspended or revoked. Please drink responsibly.
  • Smoking of any kind is not permitted on the golf course.

Dress Code: 

  • Shirts and shoes must be worn at all times.
  • Shirts must have sleeves, the exception being sleeveless golf-specific shirts.
    • Tank tops, swimwear, and cut-offs are not permitted.
  • Tailored pants or jeans in good condition are allowed. Shorts/Skorts must have a minimum 4-inch seam.
  • Appropriate footwear must be worn. No flip-flops, heels, or heavy treated boots allowed.
  • Players may be asked to change or purchase proper attire to play.

Course Care:

  • Replace and repair divots on the fairways, and ball marks on the putting green.
  • Rake bunkers after playing from them.
  • Follow directional signage when operating power and pull carts. Keep carts off tees, greens, and out of bunkers.
    • Stay on cart paths and fairways where available.
  • Avoid wet areas and high-traffic spots to reduce turf damage. No quick or sharp turns.
  • No sunflower seeds, nuts with shells, or glass on the course.

Guest Compliance:

  • First warning – Educate and request to correct
  • Second warning – Verbal warning to correct, and consequences explained
  • Final – You will be asked to leave and no refund issued.
  • Damage to carts or property – Playing privileges suspended until paid in full.

Member Compliance:

  • First warning – Verbal warning and correction.
  • Second warning – Temporary suspension of playing privileges.
  • Final warning – Playing privileges revoked with no refund.
  • Damage to carts or property – Playing privileges suspended until paid in full.

As a golfer you are responsible for your actions and behaviour on the golf course, including the flight of your ball. Injury and risk are an inherent in the game and Sun Peaks Resort LLP and its golf course assume no liability or responsibility for such inherent hazards. Any damage or injury caused by you should be reported immediately to the parties involved and the pro shop. Sun Peaks Resort Golf Course will deal with all matters of this nature according to Canadian laws and may assist or prosecute where necessary.

liquor policy

Did you know the Sun Peaks Golf course is a licensed facility?  We know you may want to partake in some beverages while enjoying your round. This policy is in place to control not prohibit consumption. Our goal is to ensure a comfortable experience by all patrons and reduce the risks of alcohol related harm such as, over consumption, impaired driving, violence, and legal liability.

This policy is required to maintain our liquor licensing, and it is mandatory that all players abide by this policy.

1. Outside alcohol is not permitted on the golf course property.Outside alcohol is defined as any liquor (including beer) not purchased from Sun Peaks Golf Course. All alcoholic beverages consumed on the golf course must be purchased from the following licensed outlets: 1st Hole Kiosk or Umbrella Café. A variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic options are available.

2. Personal coolers (or any type of food or beverage storage device) are not permitted on the course. Golf carts are provided with a cooler and ice for your convenience. Sun Peaks staff are permitted*, under our liquor license, to search coolers and/or golf bags for illicit alcohol. 

*This right will be used as a last resort, and only after non-compliance has been confirmed through other means. The guest has the right to refuse this search, the result of which will be immediate removal from the course. Failure to comply with these regulations will result in player removal from the course and property. No refunds will be issued.

3. No person shall consume alcoholic beverages to the point of impairment or intoxication. 

This policy is required to maintain our liquor license. 

The terms of Sun Peaks’ liquor license require our management and staff to be diligent in preventing the consumption of outside alcohol. Failure to abide by the rules may result in substantial fines levied against the ownership, management, and staff members, as well as the suspension or removal of the liquor license. 

The BC Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch (LCRB) provide strict rules for liquor sale and service on golf courses and monitor courses closely. Under these regulations, the golf course is required to limit the quantity of alcohol it will sell to individuals, to help prevent over consumption on or adjacent to the course.

The intent of this policy is to control, not prohibit, consumption. The goal of these control measures is to reduce the risks of alcohol related harm such as, over consumption, impaired driving, violence, and legal liability.

Golf Membership - RELEASE Agreement

All Sun Peaks passes are sold subject to the Sun Peaks Release Agreement. This Release Agreement is between the Pass Holder and Sun Peaks Resort LLP and its directors, officers, employees, instructors, guides, agents, representatives, volunteers, independent contractors, subcontractors, sponsors, successors, assigns and special events organizers, promoters, sponsors and advertisers. It includes a release of liability, waiver of claims and indemnity agreement.

This release agreement is provided in full at the time of pass purchase and must be read and signed by all individuals. A parent or guardian will be required to sign the release agreement for those under the age of 19.
