Sun Peaks Golf Course Terms and Conditions

Below, you will find the Golf Members Agreement, Golf Players Agreement, Liquor Policy, and Golf Release Agreement.

Golfer Terms and Conditions 2026

Booking and Cancellation

  • A valid email address and credit card are required at the time of booking.
  • In the event of changes, no-shows or cancellations, the profile associated with the booking is responsible for the following fees:
    • Prior day: $40 plus applicable taxes per person
    • Same day: 100 per cent of the green fee plus applicable taxes per person
    • Pairings are at the discretion of the pro shop. Singles will be paired with other players.

Arrival and Tee Times

  • Please arrive 30 minutes before your tee time and check in at the pro shop.
  • Players must report to the first tee 10 minutes before their scheduled tee time. All players must start from the first tee.
  • Maximum of four players per tee time.
  • Each player must have their own set of clubs.

Juniors

  • Children under six years old are not permitted on the course. 
  • Players aged six to 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Juniors must ride in the passenger seat of the cart. Maximum two people per cart.

Non-Golfers and Ride-Along Guests

  • All non-golfers (riding or walking) must be requested in advance to the Pro Shop.
  • The request is not guaranteed, and subject to availability on day of play. (Ride along fees apply).
  • Additional carts will not be given to accommodate.

Rental Equipment 

Rental Equipment – Power Carts and Golf Clubs

  • The individual renting equipment is responsible for it for the duration of the rental period. Charges will apply for any observed damage to carts, clubs or the course while under their care.
  • Equipment must be returned immediately upon completion of the round and prior to pro shop closing.
  • Renters must be 19 or older and provide a valid credit card.

Power Cart Regulations

  • A valid driver’s licence is required to operate a power cart.
  • Juniors aged 16–18 must be accompanied by a person 19 or older with a valid driver’s licence, who assumes responsibility and liability.
  • Juniors under 16 are not permitted to drive power carts.
  • Maximum of two riders per cart. Riding on the back of the cart is not permitted.

Alcohol and Smoking

  • Outside alcohol is strictly prohibited and will be confiscated in accordance with liquor licensing regulations.
  • Personal coolers or food and beverage storage devices are not permitted on the course.
    • Golf carts are equipped with a cooler and ice for your convenience.
    • Violations may result in suspension or revocation of playing privileges.
  • Smoking of any kind is not permitted on the golf course.
  • Please drink responsibly. Refer to our liquor policy for further details.

Pace of Play

  • Players must maintain pace with the group ahead (within one shot).
    • Ensure the group in front is out of range before playing a shot.
  • Pace guidelines:
    • Two hours 10 minutes per nine holes
    • 8:00am to 10:00am tee times: two hours five minutes or less per nine holes
  • Play ready golf and from handicap-appropriate tees.
  • When leaving the cart, bring any clubs you may need for your next shot.
  • Groups falling behind may be asked to play best ball or scramble format.
  • Player Assistants will monitor and do their best to maintain an appropriate pace of play. This can only be achieved with the cooperation of all players.

Dress Code

  • Shirts and shoes must be worn at all times.
  • Shirts must have sleeves, except for golf-specific sleeveless tops. Tank tops, swimwear and cut-offs are not permitted.
  • Tailored pants or jeans in good condition are permitted.
  • Shorts and skorts must have a minimum four-inch inseam.
  • Appropriate footwear is required. Flip-flops, heels and heavy-tread boots are not permitted.
  • Players may be required to change or purchase appropriate attire before playing.

Course Care

To help maintain excellent playing conditions for all guests:

  • Replace divots on fairways and repair ball marks on greens.
  • Rake bunkers after use.
  • Follow all directional signage when operating power or pull carts. Keep carts off tees, greens and out of bunkers. Stay on cart paths and fairways where available.
  • Avoid wet areas and high-traffic spots to reduce turf damage. Avoid quick or sharp turns.
  • Sunflower seeds, nuts in shells and glass containers are not permitted on the course.

Rain Check Policy

A rain check may be issued if management deems the golf course unplayable due to extreme weather or other conditions, following a reasonable delay in play.

  • Rain checks are issued for nine or 18 holes, based on the number of holes completed. Please see the pro shop for details.
  • Once play has begun on Hole 16, the round is considered complete and a rain check will not be provided.
  • Rain checks are valid for 12 months from the original date of play.
  • Light rain or brief passing weather does not qualify for a rain check.

Conduct and Compliance

Conduct

  • Dogs, recreational walkers and cyclists are not permitted on the course at any time.
  • Grounds crew and player assistants have the right-of-way until they acknowledge and direct you to play through.
  • Abuse of staff or other players will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the course without refund.
  • Players must follow the direction of player assistants at all times.

Golfer Compliance

  • First warning: Education and request to correct behaviour.
  • Second warning: Verbal warning and consequences explained.
  • Final: Removal from the course without refund.
  • Damage to equipment or property must be paid in full. Future playing privileges may be revoked.

Player Responsibility and Liability

Golfers are responsible for their actions and conduct on the course, including the flight of their ball. Injury and risk are inherent in the game. Sun Peaks Resort LLP and its golf course assume no liability for inherent hazards.

Any damage or injury must be reported immediately to the affected parties and the pro shop. Matters will be handled in accordance with Canadian law. The Resort may assist or pursue action where necessary.

Golf Membership - Release Agreement

All Sun Peaks passes are sold subject to the Sun Peaks Release Agreement. This Release Agreement is between the Pass Holder and Sun Peaks Resort LLP and its directors, officers, employees, instructors, guides, agents, representatives, volunteers, independent contractors, subcontractors, sponsors, successors, assigns and special events organizers, promoters, sponsors and advertisers. It includes a release of liability, waiver of claims and indemnity agreement.

This release agreement is provided in full at the time of pass purchase and must be read and signed by all individuals. A parent or guardian will be required to sign the release agreement for those under the age of 19.

Liquor Policy

Did you know the Sun Peaks Golf course is a licensed facility?  We know you may want to partake in some beverages while enjoying your round. This policy is in place to control not prohibit consumption. Our goal is to ensure a comfortable experience by all patrons and reduce the risks of alcohol related harm such as, over consumption, impaired driving, violence, and legal liability.

This policy is required to maintain our liquor licensing, and it is mandatory that all players abide by this policy.

Outside Alcohol 

Outside alcohol is not permitted on the golf course property.

Outside alcohol is defined as any liquor (including beer) not purchased from Sun Peaks Golf Course. All alcoholic beverages consumed on the golf course must be purchased from the following licensed outlets: 1st Hole Kiosk or Umbrella Café. A variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic options are available.

Personal Coolers

Personal coolers (or any type of food or beverage storage device) are not permitted on the course. 

Golf carts are provided with a cooler and ice for your convenience. Sun Peaks staff are permitted*, under our liquor license, to search coolers and/or golf bags for illicit alcohol. 

*This right will be used as a last resort, and only after non-compliance has been confirmed through other means. The guest has the right to refuse this search, the result of which will be immediate removal from the course. Failure to comply with these regulations will result in player removal from the course and property. No refunds will be issued.

Drink Responsibly

No person shall consume alcoholic beverages to the point of impairment or intoxication. 

This policy is required to maintain our liquor license. 

The terms of Sun Peaks’ liquor license require our management and staff to be diligent in preventing the consumption of outside alcohol. Failure to abide by the rules may result in substantial fines levied against the ownership, management, and staff members, as well as the suspension or removal of the liquor license. 

The BC Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch (LCRB) provide strict rules for liquor sale and service on golf courses and monitor courses closely. Under these regulations, the golf course is required to limit the quantity of alcohol it will sell to individuals, to help prevent over consumption on or adjacent to the course.

The intent of this policy is to control, not prohibit, consumption. The goal of these control measures is to reduce the risks of alcohol related harm such as, over consumption, impaired driving, violence, and legal liability.
