Step Into The Alpine

Alpine sightseeing at Sun Peaks begins with a change in perspective. A chairlift ride carries you upward into open views, cooler mountain air, and the wildly colourful alpine. It’s the kind of afternoon that unfolds gently, whether you feel like stretching your legs or simply taking in the scenery.

A scenic 15-to-20-minute ride on the Sunburst Express chairlift on Tod Mountain brings you to mid-mountain at 1,850 metres, where the landscape opens wide and encourages you to linger. Settle in at the Sunburst Bar + Eatery patio, enjoy a drink or a bite, and take in sweeping views with wildflowers adding colour across the alpine meadows. Some moments are worth savouring before you even take a step.

From the lodge, designated alpine trails branch out across the mountain. Vista Trail (No. 1 on the hiking trail map) is a welcoming option for a casual walk, offering a mostly flat loop that wanders past wildflower pockets during blossom season and leads to well-placed viewpoints. Walk a little or wander longer. The pace is yours.

This is alpine exploration at its most relaxed. Let the colour, the views, and the mountain air do the rest.
