A safe and fun experience that creates lasting memories is what our Slopeside School Program aims for with every visiting elementary and secondary school group.

The Slopeside School Program at Sun Peaks is a popular choice as it offers a quality experience at an affordable rate. The rates offered to school groups are substantially lower than walk-in rates.

Please note that the Slopeside School Program rates are not available on the following dates:

  • December 3, 2018
  • December 22, 2018 to January 6, 2019
  • February 11, 2019
  • February 16 to 24, 2019
  • March 16 to 31, 2019
  • April 4 to 7, 2019

Alpine Skiing and Snowboarding Groups

Lesson length will vary based on schools' times of arrival and departure. Rental packages include skis, boots, and poles or snowboard and boots. Sun Peaks Resort school group lesson programs include: 

  • Full day lessons: 10:00am to 12:00pm and 12:30pm to 2:00pm (3.5 hours)
  • 2 Hour lessons: 10:00am to 12:00pm for beginners and 12:30pm to 2:30pm for advanced

Adult Lift Ticket $78.75
Adult Standard Rental $33.75

 Prices exclude applicable taxes. Complimentary chaperone lift tickets available on a 10:1 ratio for paid elementary students and 20:1 for paid secondary. Seasons passes are not included in final paid student count. Additional chaperones shall pay the chaperone rates on a 10:1 ratio of paid students above the complimentary lift tickets to a maximum of 6 per day. This program is for students 18 years and under, any group members 19 years and older are considered chaperones and will pay accordingly. Chaperones may join any student lesson for free. Chaperones must be able to ski or ride to the ability level of their assigned students. The final count for chaperones must be sent with the student information 10 days prior to arrival for groups with 50 or more students and 7 days prior to arrival for groups with less than 50 students, so they can be applied to the total invoice. Chaperones arriving on the day of and paying individually will have to pay regular rates. Rental packages include skis, boots, and poles; or snowboard and boots. 

Nordic Skiing

The Annex lunch vouchers

Available exclusively to school groups, the final count must be submitted seven days prior to arrival so vouchers can be applied to the total invoice.

Terms and Conditions

  • All prices shown are per person, per day, and in Canadian funds.
  • Prices exclude applicable taxes.
  • Slopeside School Program is only available for schools in British Columbia, Canada.
  • School groups require one group leader to organize the trip and one full payment.
  • Lessons are mandatory for all school groups. Lesson length will vary based on a school's time of arrival, departure and preference.
    Lesson program availability is as follows; full day lessons: 10:00am to 12:00pm and 12:30pm to 2:00pm (3.5 hours), 2 hour lessons: 10:00am to 12:00pm for beginners and 12:30pm to 2:30pm for advanced lessons.
  • Groups will be formed at the beginning of the day based on ability levels. Students will be with the same instructor throughout the day.
  • Lunch - At 12:00pm the students will be taken to The Annex by the instructors and passed on to the teachers/chaperones until 12:30pm when the instructors will pick them up to continue with the afternoon program.
  • Rental ski packages include skis, boots, poles and helmet. Rental snowboarding packages include boots, board, bindings, wrist guards and helmet.
  • Presets for students and chaperones must be sent 10 days prior to arrival for groups with 50 or more students and 7 days prior to arrival for groups with less than 50 students. Lessons and equipment cannot be guaranteed if presets are received later than the above timeline requirements.
  • Please note that children under 8 years old are not able to participate in snowboarding.
  • Slopeside School Program is available Monday to Friday for schools larger than 30 students, Monday to Sunday for groups less than 30 students.
  • Slopeside School Program is not available during the following dates: December 3, 2018December 22, 2018 to January 6 2019February 11, 2019, February 16 to 24, 2019March 16 to 31, 2019 and April 4 to 7, 2019.

Booking procedure

Day of arrival

  • Groups Coordinator will greet your bus at The Annex parking lot to discuss safety, lesson times, lesson location and hand out tickets.
  • All students who require rentals will be brought over to the rental shop together and fitted for their boots, skis, and snowboards. Helmets and wrist guards are available.
  • Any remaining balance on your account can be completed at the Sports Sales Desk.
  • Extra unused tickets can be returned to Guest Services for a refund. Refunds will be issued in the form of a cheque and will be processed within 2 weeks.
