Mountain Biker's Responsibility Code

Regardless of how you use the trails, always show courtesy to others and be aware that there are elements of risk that common sense and personal awareness can help reduce. Please adhere to the code listed below and share with others the responsibility for a safe outdoor experience.

Understanding Bike Park Signage

Understanding Bike Park Signage

All routes within the Bike Park are designated by colour-coded trail markers at the start of each descent. Trails with an orange oval indicate freeride trails with man-made features and may require jumping skills. Work your way up to more advanced trails and features based on your progression, skill and comfort level.

Bear Aware

While in resort or on the mountain you may encounter a black bear during your stay. If you do see a bear always keep your distance, many wildlife professionals recommend remaining a minimum of 100 metres away.

First lap caution advised! Use available detours and respect trail closures.

Progression Park Our skills zone is accessible by the carpet lifts. Features five (5) trails ranging in ability level. Find mini berms, a jump line, drop section, pump track, and more; these features allow you to practice your technique in a safe and progressive environment.
Level Up The easiest trail in the Sun Peaks Bike Park offers a fantastic top-to-bottom route back to the village. Perfect for first time DH riders and families, as well as cross country riders coming off Altitude/Big Rock Ride. Don't let the easy rating put you off, this trail is flowy fun for beginners right through to advanced riders (who will enjoy the views and sneaky doubles). Level Up finishes in the new Progression Park.
Lever Lovers This trail is similar to Switcheroo, but with more technical sections.
Switcheroo Previously called Smooth Smoothie, this is a wide and gentle top-to-bottom trail to tackle once you have gained some comfort on Level Up. You'll come across many switchbacks and roll-able features all the way down.
Altitude (XC) This advanced intermediate trail challenges riders with technical rock and root sections, as well as short, sharp climbs, but the rewards of flowy turns through alpine wildflower meadows and a rest at beautiful Tod Lake are well worth it. This is a multi-use trail so you must yield to hikers and ride in control at all times. Due to the higher elevation snow or mud may be encountered, please use caution and consideration when crossing muddy sections.
Barn Burner This intermediate machine made trail has lots of berms with a step up, step down, and some steep sections. Be sure to pin it on the last berm which is over six feet tall.
Bermalade NEW TOP SECTION NOW OPEN! - This machine built intermediate level flow trail is a fun loving roller coaster pumped full of smooth flowing berms, rollers, jumps, and natural rock features.
Big Rock Ride (XC) Big Rock Ride provides a fun cross country style descent through sub-alpine forests, before joining double track that loops back into the Bike Park or down to the village.
Canada Line This jump line trail is jam packed with berms, tables, rock jibs and other features sculpted to perfection.
Gummy Bear A winding singletrack trail that has roots, rocks, short uphills, and short steep descents that will help give you a taste of the technical trails that Sun Peaks is known for and develop your skills as a mountain biker.
Holy Rollers Pin it down this super fast and flowing trail with plenty of rollers and a couple of small creek gaps.
Resurrection A fast rolling, flowing singletrack with moderate grade. Features a natural trail surface with a couple of jumps along the way.
Root Dog Root Dog is a narrow, low grade, technical trail through the trees featuring a ton of roots.
Route 66 This flowy machine made trail is packed with berms and is suitable for a wide variety of abilities.
Sour Patch Skids NEW! A machine-built trail with smaller berms and short technical features that serves as a great introduction to blue tech riding.
Spicy Taco Hang right off of lower Barn Burner for a relatively steep descent into some fun, technical singletrack through the trees and down to 5 Mile Road.
Sweater Vest NEW! Feel the flow with swoopy berms through a gully and some fun rollers.
Zazel Track A fun singletrack trail with sections that require pedaling. An excellent trail to access the upper end of the village.
Arm Pump Fun singletrack that rides really fast and flowy with a few technical sections that will test your bike handling skills.
Behind Bars Behind Bars features plenty of roots, intermediate wood work, and tons of cornering.
Biker Cross Biker Cross features step ups, doubles, tables, a hip, and berm after berm.
Cat Trax A reasonably technical trail through the trees featuring a chunky rock garden and tons of roots.
DH CLOSED AFTER 4 ROAD - This trail begins with a full throttle descent with moderate rock drops. The trail then becomes singletrack. The final section of the trail is fast and flowing berms.
Hi Octane Hi Octane is a braid of trail that can be accessed from DH or Barn Burner. This trail is singletrack all the way.
Kaboom Technical singletrack, rock faces, drops, and steep loose shale sections.
Keener A short, straight, and fast singletrack trail that connects Gnar-Boom to Steam Shovel.
Mach A great singletrack trail to step up your riding, and learn how to ride steep sections.
Repeat Offender This machine made freeride trail is packed with relatively large doubles and big ol' berms to keep your speed up for hit after hit.
Steam Shovel Upper Our signature advanced machine made trail for those who like to send it. Features step ups, step downs, tables, transfers, rock jibs and berms.
Sugar Low grade technical singletrack with short steep sections, roots, and plenty of wood. An epic ride paired with Sweet One.
Sweet One Singletrack loaded with wooden jumps and bridges over creeks. Look before you leap, it'll take you a few laps to master.
Creeper This section drops off Steam Shovel and reconnects later down on the run. Creeper is a super technical singletrack trail side cut into the mountain.
Gnar-Boom Even gnarlier technical singletrack, rock faces, drops, and steep loose shale sections. Definitely not for the faint of heart.
Honey Drop Technical singletrack with loose dirt and drops. Definitely one of the hardest trails on the mountain.
Insanity One Insanity One is the most technical trail on the mountain with extremely steep sections. Just dropping into this trail takes some marbles.
Smitty's Steeps As the name implies, this trail is steep fall line shredding!
