What people are saying about the terrain
Some guests are surprised by just how expansive the terrain is at Sun Peaks. With three mountains to explore, there’s always something new to try. Sun Peaks is the second-largest ski area in Canada, after all! With wide-open runs and short lift lines (often no lines at all), visitors are amazed by how much ground they can cover in a single day, discovering pristine powder and quiet, uncrowded moments. You can ski entirely at your own pace, without worrying about long waits or navigating back to the village.
What Visitors adore about the village
To complement the expansive terrain and relaxed pace, Sun Peaks village stands out for its cozy, European-inspired ambiance, true ski-in ski-out accessibility, and welcoming mountain atmosphere. Sun Peaks isn’t glamorous like Aspen or Whistler. It’s authentic, with warm locals who love their community and a genuine commitment to treating every guest like a longtime friend.

The Village Experiences that Guests Remember
The word is out! The ski-in, ski-out experience in Sun Peaks village cannot be beat. There’s nothing better than skiing right off the mountain and right to your next coffee shop, après spot, or your own front door. The easy village navigation makes Sun Peaks a nice choice for families and large groups skiing together. Set off on your own course, then easily meet up with your group at the Village Base to plan the next adventure.
Not a skier or boarder? No problem! The village is also perfect for strolling, with shops, restaurants, accommodation and activities all accessible on foot.
Guests also love the charming alpine atmosphere. Modelled after a Tyrolean village and dressed up with beautiful lights and a layer of pure white snow, Sun Peaks can feel like a real-life fairytale.
Top Tip: See the village for yourself in the recent Netflix Christmas film “My Secret Santa”—a magical movie filmed right here in Sun Peaks!
Amazing, beautiful village with great ski-in and ski-out condo options. We booked with 3 Peaks Rentals at the Hearthstone Lodge and it was amazing. There’s great pizza within the lodge and the hot tubs were awesome. I would love to go back.

We were so impressed with this resort. We came from Seattle for Thanksgiving weekend and were blown away by how much was open and skiable. The lift lines were short and the snow was pretty good for this time of the season. The village is incredible. We stayed at a ski-in, ski-out property and loved the convenience of the resort. All the restaurants at the base are easily accessible to pop in for a bite or drink and get right back out skiing. We will be coming back!

Terrain for Advanced Skiers
Sun Peaks is up there with the best resorts in the Alps. It sits at a lower altitude and the terrain is better suited for beginner to intermediate riders, but there are also some incredible off-piste advanced routes. Facilities are great, with almost no queues on the chairlifts and wide, well-groomed slopes. The terrain park offers conditions for all levels and the views from the top are breathtaking.

Sun Peaks is the best ski resort I’ve ever been to. There are a wide variety of runs, ranging from beginner to expert, with a majority being in the intermediate range. The views are stunning, the slopes well maintained, and there are even boards at the top of each lift to tell you which runs are groomed or not. There are also plenty of activities off the slopes, from sledding to riding on one of the groomer cats. One of the highlights of my visit was the Alpine Fondue & Starlight Descent, where we skied down with only the stars and a headlamp to guide us.

Families and Intermediate Skiers
Sun Peaks is especially loved by guests for how accessible it is for mixed-ability groups, making it easy for everyone to enjoy the mountain together. Our wide groomed runs are world class, creating plenty of space to ski comfortably.
Plus, enjoy beginner-friendly learning zones that offer a welcoming place for skiers and riders of all ages to build confidence and skills. Sun Peaks skiing and riding lessons are highly regarded for helping guests progress quickly, and the natural terrain progression across the resort allows folks to smoothly advance their skills from one area to the next.

We’ve been here twice already and always had a blast. It’s a very family-friendly resort, and the mountain is so large that even if it’s busy at the base, once you’re up top it almost feels like you have the place to yourself. That also makes it a great place for beginners to learn. It’s easily our favourite snowboarding resort so far and we’ll definitely be back whenever we can.

It’s a beautiful place to spend time with family. The town is small and welcoming, the locals are super friendly, and there are plenty of activities to enjoy in the snow like skiing and ice skating. The snow was some of the best I’ve ever seen, soft enough that beginners and kids can learn without worrying about hard falls. The food is also incredible with so much variety. I highly recommend visiting this beautiful place.

Love it. A great resort for skiing and snowboarding and for family fun. There are lots of trails for snowshoeing and even a spot for tobogganing. There’s plenty of parking, and overall it’s definitely one of the best resorts in BC. Can’t wait to come back next season.
