The Sun Peaks Yoga workshop series presents the Let it Go: Yin Yoga & Myofascial Release workshop.
This workshop offers a comprehensive, yet practical self-care approach on how to eliminate pain, improve ease of movement and flexibility. You will learn how to relax your nervous system and areas of tension to help prevent disease and restore your overall state of wellbeing. This is the perfect workshop for anyone who’s looking to take a pause from their busy lives, unwind and release areas of tension in the body.
The workshop will begin with a few pranayama (breathing) exercises to create stillness and focus. Then a short lecture explaining the fascial system, yin yoga and its relations to the energy meridians of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).
Participants will explore Myofascial Release (MFR) techniques by using tennis balls to target specific areas of blocked energy and tension. A Chinese herbal tea will be served to promote mental clarity and help calm our nervous system. Then journey into some Yin Yoga, which is a slow and mindful practice designed to release stress both physically and mentally. Finishing up with a short Yoga Nidra session to relax the mind and refresh you for the coming week ahead!
All are welcome and encouraged to attend, no previous yoga experience required!
