Our brand new Crystal chairlift is now ready for the 2020-21 season, but we know many long time Sun Peaks skiers and riders hold a soft spot in their hearts for the original Crystal. That faithful old triple has served us well for many years, stretching all the way back to its installation in 1979 during the Tod Mountain days. Countless pow laps, high fives, snowghost sightings, and breathtaking vistas have been served up by that chair during it’s 40 year run.
Thanks to all these memories we’ve had a large number of enquiries about purchasing the chairs from the original lift ever since we revealed plans for the new version of the Crystal. In response, we’re stoked to announce that we’re offering all of our guests and locals a chance to buy one!
We’d love to be able to give a chair to every person who’s asked for one, however there simply wasn’t enough chairs hanging on that ol’ lift line to make this possible. Instead we’re giving everyone an equal shot to buy one of 80 available chairs through a public ballot. At the same time, we’re using the opportunity to raise some money for a local Sun Peaks charity.
So, how will it work? Entries to the ballot can be purchased through our online store for $5.00 per entry. Entries are available from now until November 8, with all proceeds from the ballot donated to a local charitable cause.
Then, on November 9, we’ll be drawing 80 random entries, and those lucky 80 people will be given the unique opportunity to purchase a chair for $350.00 plus tax.
You can buy as many entries as you like to increase your chances of winning, however we’re limiting it to one chair per person so once your name is drawn the first time that’s it. Once you’ve secured a chair you’ll be responsible for picking it up from Sun Peaks during the weekend of November 13 to 14, so make sure you’ll be available to make that happen before you commit to the purchase. Full terms and conditions can be found on our online store.
Don’t miss your chance to own a piece of Sun Peaks history!
