Multi-Million Dollar Investment to Revitalize Sunburst and Bento's Lodges

We’re pleased to announce major infrastructure projects through a multi-million dollar investment and commitment to continue moving Sun Peaks forward as a leading mountain resort destination. After consecutive summer and winter seasons of strong performance, the resort is positioned to take another significant step forward with complete remodels on two key food and beverage outlets.

As a company, the cornerstone of our day-to-day operations is a commitment to our guests in delivering an exceptional overall Sun Peaks experience. We’re proud of our community and the sought-after recreational lifestyle that we can share with people from all around the world. These newly renovated food and beverage facilities will vastly enhance and transform a critical area of guest experience.

Sunburst 2.0

Sunburst Lodge, located at mid-mountain, is the signature on-mountain eatery for skiers, snowboarders, mountain bikers, hikers, and sightseers.

Project highlights:

  • Double in size
  • Significant increase in capacity
  • Additional seating on both levels
  • Complete overhaul of food service area
  • Full service bar
  • New break area for ski teams

Bento's 2.0

Bento’s Day Lodge is the family friendly, cafeteria style facility at the village base.

Project highlights:

  • 45% increase in capacity
  • Full interior remodel
  • Recreated and contemporary food service options
  • Cozy seating area
  • Enhanced multi-use potential
  • Continued hub for season pass holders and day visitors

These projects are the next step in the Master Development Plan that has been followed closely for the past two decades and has allowed Sun Peaks Resort to evolve into a world class destination. This investment is the first component in a series of projects to be rolled out over the coming seasons due to the momentum generated by increases in visitation, real estate activity, and overall community growth.

Construction on these two facilities will begin shortly after the closing of 2017 winter operations and will continue through the summer. Both projects will be complete and reopen for business in November 2017 to coincide with the beginning of another exciting ski season!

Updates on on-mountain facilities available to hikers and bikers this summer will be released as we near the opening date of Sunburst chairlift for summer operations.
