Cooler temps are in the air, so it’s time to break out your flannel and start filling your fall calendar. While you’re at it, check out these ways to take in the fall fun in Sun Peaks this autumn.
This year, the Sunburst chairlift will continue to spin every single weekend (Friday – Sunday) throughout September for lift-access hiking and mountain biking. This means you can still explore the mountain on two feet or two wheels while the leaves start to change.
If fall is your favourite season, then you’re not going to want to miss our second annual Fall Festival. This festival packs the village with all of your favourite seasonal activities. Whether you’re looking to test your speed at the pie eating contest, stroll the village admiring the Classic Car Show n Shine, or choose to sip your pumpkin-spiced beverage while watching a free village performance, we’ve got something for everyone.
Cider lovers rejoice! Our second annual Cider Fest is coming up on September 28. An array of BC cideries and craft breweries will be offering tastings all night long. Small bites and live music by Marshall Potts will accompany the event, making for the perfect fall evening. Tickets should be purchased in advance.
Thanksgiving long weekend is the time to stock up on all of that winter gear that you may need at our village-wide Turkey Sale. The sale will score you up to 70% off everything from base layers, to skis and snowboards so you can be ready to hit the slopes on opening weekend, November 23 - 24. If you're still in the summer state of mind you can also snag downhill and cross country bikes plus bike gear at the Turkey Sale for an epic price!
Crisp fall air and a hot drink go hand in hand. While you’re in Sun Peaks, cozy up in one of our local cafés along the village stroll. You’ll find freshly baked goods and home-made eats to fill you up too!
Try something new and soak in the autumn views of the Sun Peaks mountains by horseback. Horseback trail rides wind through the valley trail and onto ski slopes to offer beautiful scenes of the changing colours.
