This winter is all about getting outside and enjoying the fresh mountain air. Whether you’re a seasoned Nordic skier, or you want to try out a new sport, here are some reasons to explore our network of trails in Sun Peaks.
Pristine Terrain
With 37km of groomed and track set trails, there is no shortage of options for all levels of Nordic skiers. Quietly tucked away from the downhill ski area, our trails are groomed daily so you are guaranteed fresh conditions. The Nordic team even has a real time grooming report so you can get updates as they come. Visiting skiers can feel confident choosing their own adventure because all major intersections are mapped along the way.
Scenic Views – the Whole Time
While exploring our Nordic trails you will find the views to be ever-evolving. Towering snowy trees, open views of Mt. Tod, and even a beautiful cabin on the shore of McGillivray Lake will greet you on your ski.
Insider Tip: The McGillivray Lake Outpost warming hut is open daily from 9:00am – 3:30pm, and is the perfect place to warm up.
Trail access right from the village
Stay in our pedestrian-only village and conveniently access the trails. The Nordic trails start at the covered bridge located at the bottom of the village. You won’t have to break the bank with mid-week rooms starting from only $109/night.
Dog & Kid-Friendly Trails
You don’t have to leave anyone in the family behind! We have a number of dog-friendly trails, so you can bring your pup along for the ride. If your kids are learning, there are several green trails which they’ll enjoy playing around on.
Lessons & Camps
Our Nordic ski instructors are fully certified to teach skiers of all ability levels, offering daily private and group lessons. For a jam-packed weekend of learning and instruction, we recommend the Glenn Bond Nordic Ski Camp on February 13 & 14.
Insider Tip: No gear? No problem! Our Nordic Centre offers both classic and skate ski rental packages.
