We are open! On Saturday, November 23, Sun Peaks Resort was the first BC interior resort to kick off the 2019/20 ski and snowboard season!
Competition for first chair was fierce this year, with a challenge thrown down in the early morning hours of last winter's Opening Day leading to two groups showing up within minutes of each other on Friday to pitch tents and claim the honour. Ultimately the home court advantage of some local groms was enough to narrowly beat out the dedicated crew of stokers who snagged first chair last year.
After a chilly night protecting their prize, the most dedicated skiers on the mountain were joined by plenty more people excited for their first snow sliding of the season. At 9:00am the wait was finally over, with the first chair loading as cheers echoed through the valley.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us for another fun Opening Day here in Sun Peaks! While terrain remains limited for the next few days, we're hopeful that with a favourable forecast and a bit of help from Mother Nature we'll have more runs open soon.
