New Orient Chairlift Opens at Sun Peaks Resort

Sun Peaks, BC (December 23, 2018): The highly anticipated Orient chairlift will be open for Christmas at Sun Peaks Resort. The $4 million project located in the east village area of the resort is a four passenger, fixed grip chairlift built by Doppelmayr that will provide significantly improved skier access to the main village core as well as existing ski terrain.

Construction has been ongoing through the summer and fall months in preparation for this exciting addition to the destination. The Orient chairlift will spin daily at 8:30am beginning on Christmas Eve (Monday, December 24). Local dignitaries will take the first chairs and an official grand opening celebration will be planned for late January.
