Wildflowers in Full Bloom as Adventure and Wellness Events take to the Trails

Alpine meadows peak with colour just in time for Mountain Lifestyle Wellness Weekend, BC Day long weekend celebrations, and Sun Peaks Adventure Race

Sun Peaks, B.C., July, 31, 2025 – Alpine blossom season is at its peak in Sun Peaks, with an array of wildflowers blanketing the mountain meadows. Mid-summer staples such as arctic lupine, mountain aster, paintbrush, tiger lily, and red columbine are now on display, creating a natural spectacle easily accessed via the Sunburst Express chairlift and extensive hiking trail network.

Timed with the BC Day Long weekend, the resort is offering a series of wellness-focused events inspired by the mountain environment. Mountain Lifestyle Wellness Weekend, presented in partnership with Helly Hansen, runs August 1-3 and features:

“Mountain Lifestyle Wellness Weekend is a newer event concept that we’ve anchored to the wildflower season,” says Christina Antoniak, Director of Communications for Sun Peaks Resort. “The easy chairlift-access to alpine wildflowers that we enjoy here is unique, and we want guests to have new ways in which to interact with our trail network while experiencing the beauty of the blooms.”

Scavenge the Summit is fun, interactive scavenger hunt suitable for all guest ages and fitness levels, with fantastic prizes from Helly Hansen and Sun Peaks Spa. Guests check in at the top of the Sunburst chairlift then explore the trail network to locate any of the 30 checkpoints. Each checkpoint reached is an entry into a draw for several high value prize packages.

Registrations for trail running ($10) and yoga ($50) include premium swag packs valued at approximately $100 per person.

The BC Day Long weekend also brings added energy to the village, with a roster of family-friendly entertainment. The First Fridays Street Party Series kicks off the weekend with the Electric Brass Circus Stage Show, a free live concert by The Free Label (hailing from Toronto, high energy funk), The Terrace Party at Sun Peaks Grand, and a Pondera Spit Roast at Masa’s Bar + Grill. Guests can also enjoy an Outdoor Family Movie Night, the Bounce House Party, Sunday Brunch Series, Farmers’ Market, and more.

Looking ahead, August 9 marks the return of the Sun Peaks Adventure Race by Adventure Immersion Labs, where trekking, paddling, and mountain biking combine for the ultimate challenge in the mountains. Participants compete solo or in a 2-person team, choosing from a 4-hour/23km or an 8-hour/50km race option, navigating entirely by map and compass, no GPS permitted.
