At Sun Peaks, chairlift hiking and alpine sightseeing make it easy to explore the mountains from a whole new perspective. If you're looking for a relaxing afternoon to take in the beauty of Sun Peaks, take a ride on the Sunburst Express chairlift on Tod Mountain and enjoy panoramic views, wildflower-lined trails, and fresh mountain air. Whether you're out for a casual stroll or a mountain adventure, it's a laid-back way to connect with nature at its finest.
A scenic 15- to 20-minute ride will take you up to mid-mountain at an elevation of 1,850m. From here, enjoy a leisurely stroll of the area and relax on the Sunburst Lodge patio.
This area is also the trail head for 13 designated, signed alpine hiking trails. For a casual walk, we recommend Vista Trail (No. 1 on the hiking trail map). It's a 1.5km flat loop that takes you past alpine wildflowers (when in season, mid-July to mid-August) and offers a couple of viewpoints.

Although tot lift tickets are free, all tots must have a pass on their person while using the chairlift. Lift tickets for tots are available at all Sun Peaks Resort ticket outlets. Optional tot season passes are available for a $30 administration fee. Discount on day tickets only. Each ticket and pass holder will be required to purchase a Mountain Card for $5.00 (available during your purchase process). This card can be reloaded for all subsequent visits. *Full day tickets valid, June 14 to September 1, 10:00am to 7:00pm, from September 2 to 28 10:00am to 5:00pm.**Twilight tickets valid June 14 to September 1, 4:00pm to 7:00pm. Please note animals are not permitted on chairlifts. If you have a service dog, please contact Guest Services by phone 250.578.5474 or email guestservices@sunpeaksresort.com and we will provide alternative transport option for you and your service dog.

Take your game to new heights—literally. Sun Peaks is home to a disc golf course located at the top of the Sunburst Express chairlift. Access is included with a lift ticket or season pass, and once you’re up there, it’s free to play. Winding through forested fairways and natural alpine terrain at 1,844 metres, this hidden gem offers a fun challenge for all skill levels.
