In close partnership with the Canadian Ski Instructors’ Alliance, Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors, and Sun Peaks Sports School, Snowminds offers the opportunity to become a ski or snowboard instructor in Canada. Founded by former instructors, Snowminds brings passion and personal commitment to everything we do. Over the past seven years, we have trained more than 2,500 instructors worldwide.

3-Week Instructor Course– Level 1

With the right enthusiasm and motivation, anyone with basic ski or snowboard skills can become an instructor. This three-week course offers comprehensive training with a clear focus on your technique and development, both on and off-piste. Our experienced coaches provide personalized guidance to strengthen your skills across varied terrain, deepen your knowledge of mountain safety, and prepare you with everything you need to succeed. By the end of the course, you’ll be a certified Level 1 instructor in Canada, with a guaranteed job placement.  

Job Guarantee 

After successful completion of the Instructor Course, you will begin an internship at the Sun Peaks Sports School. In this role, you will work as an instructor for the full Canadian winter season, in what we like to call the world’s best job. While hard work is required to earn your certification, Snowminds supports you all the way. At Sun Peaks, we’re proud of our 100% pass rate.

Off-piste Course  

In addition to the CSIA or CASI Level 1 course, you can add 20 days of backcountry training to your experience. With Snowminds and an experienced guide in Sun Peaks, you can explore this internationally acclaimed off-piste course. This course is the first big step towards being a professional off-piste guide. At the end of the prep course, you will be equipped to pass the eight-day Operation Level 1 exam with confidence.

11-Week Course - Level 1 and Level 2  

If you are looking to enjoy the snow this winter, and focus on developing your own skiing or snowboarding technique, the 11-week training course, is an excellent training opportunity. Starting from your current technical level, coaches will help you progress whether you are a beginner or an expert. After taking the course, you will be a certified Canadian Level 1 and 2 Instructor, with the skills to enjoy the snow at a higher level and the qualifications to work a season as an instructor.
