Childminding at Sundance Kids Centre
Enjoy your day on the mountain while your little one has a fun-filled day of their own. Sundance Kids Centre offers full-day childminding for children ages 3 to 5, with indoor play, crafts, games and outdoor activities when weather permits. Private ski and snowboard lessons can also be added to your child’s day.

Full-day rate: $139 (childminding only)
Location: Base of the Sunburst Express chairlift
Childminding packages with private ski or snowboard lessons are available below.
Childminding Limits
We exclusively offer full-day packages to ensure appropriate supervision ratios. As a licensed Occasional Child Care provider, we can provide a maximum of:
- 8 hours per child, per day; and
- 40 hours of care per child within a 30-day period
Time spent in pre-booked ski or snowboard lessons does not count toward these limits. Bookings that exceed these limits will be adjusted in accordance with the British Columbia Child Care Licensing Regulation.

Advance reservations are strongly recommended, especially during holiday periods. Complete the registration form and email it to Sports School at sportschool@sunpeaksresort.com.

What You'll Need at Check-in
Parents or guardians must present the following:
- Proof of medical coverage
- Your child's health insurance number
- Completed registration form
These items are required under provincial child care licensing regulations. Photocopies are acceptable.

Childminding Programs
Save when you book multiple days: Book three days and save 5%, or book five days and save 10%. Multi-day discounts are available for bookings made by phone or in person and do not apply to lessons.

Childminding with Private Lesson Add-Ons
Sun Tots programs are offered seven days a week for young skiers and snowboarders ages 3 to 5. Children ages 5 and under receive a free lift ticket, and tot equipment rentals can be added to any lesson for just $30 plus tax (excluding the damage waiver).

What are the daily activities at Sundance Kids Centre?
Children enjoy group games, crafts and active play, with outdoor time when weather permits. The daily schedule includes morning snack and lunch breaks, as well as quiet time in the afternoon. Children with pre-booked ski or snowboard lessons follow the same general schedule, with timing adjusted as needed.
How many days can my child attend?
As a licensed Occasional Child Care provider, Sundance Kids Centre can provide a maximum of 40 hours of care per child within a 30-day period. For example, a child booked for full-day childminding without lessons can attend for up to five days (35 hours total). Time spent in pre-booked ski or snowboard lessons does not count toward this limit. Please contact us if you’re unsure whether your booking falls within these limits.
Do you provide food?
No. Please pack a healthy lunch and snacks for your child. Refrigerated food storage is available. Alternatively, parents or guardians may sign their child out for lunch between noon and 1:00pm. Please note that Sundance Kids Centre is a nut-free facility.
What should I bring for my child?
Please bring warm layers and suitable footwear for outdoor activities, along with any equipment and clothing required for pre-booked ski or snowboard lessons. As children may participate in painting, crafts and sensory play, please dress them accordingly. Personal belongings and electronic devices should be left at home.
Does my child need to be toilet trained?
Yes. Children registered at Sundance Kids Centre must be able to use the washroom independently.
