The new “Jeepers Creepers” Jeep Tour offers guests a rugged yet relaxed way to explore the backcountry trails, alpine lakes, and panoramic viewpoints surrounding Sun Peaks Resort, without breaking a sweat.
Launched in June 2024, this two-hour guided off-road tour gives visitors a behind-the-scenes look at the region’s terrain, wildlife, and alpine ecology. Led by longtime local guide “Joe,” whose storytelling and expertise bring the mountains to life, the ride winds through narrow backcountry trails with the top down when weather allows, revealing quiet alpine lakes, sweeping forest views, and picture-perfect vistas you wouldn’t reach on foot.
Tours are available throughout the week, with convenient pickup and drop-off from Sun Peaks Village or guest accommodations. The Jeep Rubicon comfortably fits three to four guests, making it a great option for families, couples, or small groups. Evening departures are especially popular, starting at 7 PM to capture golden-hour light over the mountains.

Sun Peaks offers outdoor enthusiasts 17 designated hiking trails, ranging from easy, scenic strolls to challenging summit hikes with stops at Tod Lake. Start your adventure in the village or hop on the Sunburst chairlift, which takes you to mid-mountain at 6,000 feet above sea level. From there, explore breathtaking alpine vistas and vibrant wildflower meadows. When you’re done, give your legs a break and take the chairlift back down. Don’t miss the stunning Alpine Blossom Season, peaking between mid-July and mid-August, when the meadows burst into a kaleidoscope of wildflower colors and sweet aromas.
