RVing & Camping at sun Peaks REsort

Sun Peaks offers RVing and camping amenities to make your stay as comfortable and easy as possible. For questions, please contact Guest Services 250.578.5474.

Winter and Spring RV Sites

Open in winter and spring, overnight RV sites are available in Parking Lot 5 (P5), beside the East Village Centre and at the base of the Morrisey Express and Orient chairlifts.

Sites should be reserved online in advance to guarantee access. If you are unable to select a date in the online store there are no sites available for that date.

Regulations

  • Maximum Stay: 14 nights. Long-term stays are not permitted.
  • Fees: Rates include one RV or one vehicle with one trailer. Each site allows up to four adults, or up to eight guests if at least four are 15 or younger. One person in the group must be 19 or older.
  • Parking: Vehicles must be parked in designated areas only.
  • Facilities: Washrooms (no showers) are located at the East Village Centre. An access code will be provided in your order confirmation email.
  • Amenities: No hookups or sani-dump are available during the ski season. RVs must be self-contained.
  • Quiet Hours: 11:00pm to 8:00am
  • Waste: Garbage and recycling bins are provided. Please dispose of waste properly.
  • Campfires: Not permitted, except for portable propane fire pits.
  • Pets: Dogs are welcome but must be leashed at all times, as per Sun Peaks Municipality by-laws.

Cancellation Policy

Reservation changes or cancellations with more than 24 hours’ notice will be honoured. Call Guest Services at 250.578.5474 for assistance. No refunds will be issued for cancellations within 24 hours of the reservation. No refunds will be issued for missed reservations.

Drop-In Showers at Alpine Fitness

Sun Peaks Alpine Fitness is open to the public year round, offering drop-in shower facilities.

  • Locker-room style hot showers (male and female)
  • $5 plus tax per person
  • Towel rentals and travel size toiletries available for purchase
  • Open daily during gym hours, drop-in showers end 30 minutes prior to close

Please note Alpine Fitness is an independently operated public facility in the village, approximately a 12 to 15 minute walk from Parking Lot 5 (P5). Shower facilities are not included with Sun Peaks Resort camping reservations.

Summer RV and Camp Sites

Located in Parking Lot 2 (P2), just a short walk from the village and lifts, Sun Peaks offers 45 RV and camping sites. Open in spring and summer, the sites provide a convenient base for guests looking to stay close to the resort’s amenities and outdoor activities.

Sites should be reserved online in advance to guarantee access. If you are unable to select a date in the online store there are no sites available for that date.

  • Be Bear Aware: Sun Peaks is a mountain environment. Do not approach wildlife, especially bears, as they can be unpredictable and dangerous. Bears are attracted to food and garbage, so never store food in tents or leave it outside in a cooler.
  • Campfires: Not permitted, except for portable propane fire pits.
  • Pets: Dogs are welcome but must be leashed at all times, as per Sun Peaks Municipality by-laws.

Lakeside Heffley Hideaway campsites

cabins & partially-serviced campsites at Heffley Lake

Lakeside Heffley Hideaway offers lakefront cabins and partially-serviced campsites at Heffley Lake, just 15km from Sun Peaks. Campsites can accommodate everything from tents to large RVs with power and water service (no septic hookups or sani-dump on site, please come empty). Central washroom facilities have flush toilets, running water and hot coin-operated showers. Open May long weekend until Thanksgiving weekend.

If the campground at Sun Peaks is full, there are also BC Recreation Site campgrounds located at McGillivray Lake (10 minutes east of Sun Peaks Resort), Heffley Lake (10 minutes west of Sun Peaks Resort), and Knouff Lake (30 minutes west of Sun Peaks Resort).

Be Bear Aware

While in resort or on the mountain you may encounter a black bear during your stay. If you do see a bear always keep your distance, many wildlife professionals recommend remaining a minimum of 100 metres away.
