Wildflowers Are in Full Bloom

Published July 15, 2026

The alpine wildflowers at Sun Peaks are in full bloom. Arctic lupines, paintbrush, columbine, subalpine daisies and more are putting on an impressive display of colour across the mountainside.

For the best wildflower viewing, head to the Top of the World and continue along Juniper Ridge Trail. This round-trip hike from the top of the Sunburst Express Chairlift will take approx. 1.5-2 hours. Looking for a shorter outing? Enjoy a gentler stroll along Vista Trail through subalpine forest and mountainside meadows. Alpine blossoms are also abundant on the west facing trails on Tod Mountain.

Peak bloom typically begins in early to mid-July and lasts for a few weeks. After peak bloom, a variety of late-season alpine wildflowers continue to bloom through early September.
