Four skiers walking in a line with skis over shoulders in the Sun Peaks alpine

A ski holiday should be just that: a holiday!

With over 4,400 acres of skiable terrain, some guests will ski from first chair to last laps without stopping, but that’s not for everyone. For others, a long lunch in the sun, followed by a hot tub before après is just what the doctor ordered. And you know what? That doesn’t sound too bad either.

So come to Sun Peaks for the skiing and snowboarding. And return for the “peak moments” that sent you home rejuvenated, ready to face real life once more. As a proper vacation should. Sun Peaks at your leisure.

Peak Moment 1: 360° of Skiing

The village sits at the centre of the resort's three mountains, so you get 360 degrees of skiing from wherever you start your day.

Catch a lift to any area right from the village, then return to home base or rendezvous with your group wherever you roam. Every chairlift has runs for all abilities, from green groomers to advanced off-piste, so the whole crew can get their fix and still meet for the next lap. Move freely between mountains, exposures and elevations to find the best snow, and you're never more than a run from a hot chocolate.

Peak Moment #2: Après Through the Village

Ski and walk through the Bavarian-style village core to sample the local flavour of Sun Peaks après.

Glide right off the lift to Morrisey's, then Mantles, then Bottoms, from sunny patios to cozy pub vibes, no boots required. Listen for the Friday "Après Bells" at 3:00pm and join the tradition of drink specials, games, and rotating feature venues.

Peak Moment 3: Platter to Platter

The platter lifts are the first to open and the last to close. So if someone in your crew is frothing to squeeze out every last drop, they can ride platter-to-platter while you kick back nearby.

In the mornings, the platters carry local kids to school on the mountain and early birds into position for the first chairs. After the chairs close, the village platter keeps spinning late into the night. The lit slopes and well-stocked terrain park are in view from slopeside patios, pools and hot tubs. Order a platter of your own and watch.

Peak Moment 4: The Beach Club

Sun Peaks averages 2,000+ hours of sunshine a year and winter temperatures around -5°C. All that sun and room to roam at your own pace gives the resort a relaxed rhythm that might rival your last beach vacation.

Pack a picnic for panoramic afternoons in the alpine, where the Top of the World view runs past the next peaks of its size 60km away. Or pull up a chair at the slope-side Sun Peaks Beach Club for a cold one or hot snack. No lines in the morning, tan lines in the afternoon.

Peak Moment 5: Burfield Chair

It was the first one here in the 1960s, and it still hauls skiers from the entrance gates to the Top of the World at the same speed as always, a full 22 minutes.

With nearly 900 metres of vert and a top elevation of 2,080 metres, don't miss riding "The Burf". It's got character. It's got access. It's got... quirk? You might love it or only do it once, but to hop aboard is to ride back in time. The fall line feels classic, the OG day lodge still buzzes, and runs range from green to double-black.
