Air Nation Sun Peaks is the 1st stop the Air Nation Freestyle Tour 2019, with Slopestyle and Big Air competitions. Air Nation Sun Peaks brings together the best freestyle snowboarding athletes in North America to compete in Slopestyle and Big Air events. Points awarded from the events: FIS, NorAm, WSL (CRL).

For spectators, you'll see all of action from the village at the base of the terrain park. Please refrain from walking uphill into the terrain park, but if you're on skis or a snowboard, feel free to ski down and watch from inside the park.

Online registration is recommended and closes at midnight on January 20, 2018.

Onsite registration is limited to space availability and closes at 2:00pm on January 22, 2018.
Onsite registration will be provided at the Event Office.

Eligibility - NorAm Competitions
Competitors must be 13 years of age as at December 31, 2018.

In order to receive FIS points, competitors must hold a valid FIS License prior to the Team Captains Meeting scheduled before the Event.

Canadian athletes can purchase Provincial/Territorial Advanced Membership, SAIP Insurance and FIS license online under Member Services HERE.

International Athletes Notice

To confirm your registration, the Event Organizers MUST receive a written confirmation from your National Snowboard Association confirming that you are in good standing, prior to your arrival at the event. The confirmation letter can be submitted by email to: bcsnow@telus.net.

International Athletes must first register for an access code HERE and then register for the event.

Registration Fees
$125 for one (1) competition day (Online Registration)
$150 for one (1) competition day (Onsite)
$250 for two (2) competition days (Online Registration)
$300 for two (2) competition days (Onsite)

Canadian Coach Registration

All Canadian coaches attending event must register HERE and meet the Canada Snowboard Coaching Program Scope of Practice and Minimum Standards.

Please review and understand the Minimum Standards.

Athlete/Coach Sign In

All participating athletes and coaches are required to Sign In at the Event Office, to confirm registration and to complete mandatory Sun Peaks Special Event Waivers.

Waivers must be signed in person by participant and by parent or legal guardian (coach) for athletes under 19 years of age.

Lift Tickets

Athletes: Lift tickets for training and competition days will be offered at 40% discount. Vouchers will be provided at Sign In and will be purchased at Guest Services.
Coaches: Lift tickets will be comped based on 5 athletes to 1 coach pass.
Coaches not qualifying for comp pass will receive 40% discount voucher.

REFUND POLICY

Any refund of Event Registration Fee requires the approval BC Snowboard Association Executive Director.

Request for refund must be submitted by email to: bcsnow@telus.net

The following are viable reasons for permitting Event Registration Fee refunds:

  • Event cancellation or date/location changes
  • Injury sustained prior to event training, preventing participation in event (must be confirmed with doctor’s note)
  • Exceptions: hardship special circumstances require the prior approval of BC Snowboard Associations Executive Director

Refunds for cash or cheque transactions must be refunded by cheque. Credit card refunds must be processed via card transaction credit. Membership, SAIP Insurance and FIS license fees are not refundable.

Lift tickets are not refundable.

SANCTION

BC Snowboard Association, Canada Snowboard, the Federation Internationale de Ski (FIS) and the World Snowboard Federation sanction AIR NATION Sun Peaks as a FIS North American Cup and WSF National event.

RULES & REGULATIONS

Certified helmets are mandatory for all training and competitions (FIS Rule 2010.6). Canada Snowboard Helmet Policy can be found HERE

Competitions are run in accordance with the FIS and NorAm rules.
