As part of Avalanche Awareness Days, a nationwide initiative supported by Avalanche Canada, this community event highlights the importance of safe backcountry travel and the invaluable role Avalanche Canada plays in providing critical information for backcountry recreationists.
Thanks to the hard work and expertise of our Snow Safety Team, the in-bounds terrain at Sun Peaks Resort poses little avalanche risk. However, conditions change dramatically once you enter the backcountry.
Join us for an introductory adventure into the world of avalanche safety, where our Ski Patrol experts will guide you through the ins and outs of beacon usage. You’ll “rescue” buried prizes from Helly Hansen while learning essential techniques for backcountry preparedness.
Time: 30 minute slots between 10:00am and 12:00pm
Location: Beacon Basin
