Sun Peaks hosts the annual "Giving Tuesday" in support of the many non-profit organizations that are truly the foundation of our community. Sun Peaks is a vibrant mountain resort municipality with no shortage of passionate and involved local residents who commit countless hours of volunteer time in dozens of community groups, clubs, and associations.
Today is a day to open your hearts to the many organizations that offer support to our community. Kindly make a donation on this date in support of the organization of your choice. Tourism Sun Peaks will be matching donations up to a pre-set maximum, so your donation will go even further!
Adaptive Sports at Sun Peaks (ASSP) is a charitable not-for profit running on the power of volunteers. With over 55 volunteer instructors last season, we delivered almost 500 weekly ski and snowboard lessons to students living with disabilities. And in the Summer of 2023, we reached an organizational milestone by offering our first ever summer programs! Since our inception in 2008, ASSP continues to grow and develop it's programming through fundraising efforts fueled by community support.
Because of generous donors like you, we can continue to provide accessible outdoor adventures for individuals living with physical, visual and/or neuro-divergent challenges from as close to home as Kamloops & Sun Peaks, as well as from and around the world.
Mission - ArtZone Sun Peaks is a non-profit community organization promoting the growth and accessibility of arts and culture in Sun Peaks. We provide opportunities for artists of all backgrounds and abilities. We strive to create a welcoming and inclusive community where everyone can participate in the arts.
Vision – ArtZone is a community arts organization whose facility is a hub offering year-round arts and cultural experiences for all, in collaboration with its partners.
Part of all donations received from Giving Tuesday will go to our Building Reserve Fund toward our vision. Donors will also have the option of receiving a complimentary annual membership to ArtZone!
Sun Peaks Alpine Club (SPAC) is a non-profit club that serves to promote alpine sports as a healthy and enjoyable activity for persons of all ages and abilities. SPAC has been serving our alpine community since 1962 with the support of parent and community volunteers as well as generous sponsorship.
Funds raised through Giving Tuesday will be applied towards our goal of building a new Race Start Hut on OSV. This hut serves as a warming hut for our young racers, a storage area for our mountain gear and a more efficient space for our racing officials. This new hut will serve not only our home community of racers, but all racers who visit Sun Peaks Resort on events.
Sun Peaks Bear Aware is a non-profit organization founded by a group of dedicated volunteers in the spring of 2022. Through education, information and community engagement we aim to minimize human-bear conflicts, creating an environment where people and bears can coexist successfully here at Sun Peaks.

Founded in 2010, the Sun Peaks Education Society is dedicated to the promotion and delivery of a flexible and diverse community based education in Sun Peaks. Through the generous support of the community, the schools in Sun Peaks have grown to support over 160 students enrolled in grades K-12. The SPES also continues to fund and operate the Sun Peaks Secondary Academy for grade 10-12 students. Operating expenses include teacher wages, insurance and enrichment activities to support curriculum provided by SD73's @KOOL program. A reserve has also been established to support new K-12 brick and mortar school that will be build in the future.
This non-profit organisation was set up to raise money for equipment, training and resources for first responders and locals living within the local area. Its mandate is to have the resources to be able to offer basic training to anyone in the community who’d like to learn more about first aid.
Funds raised from this campaign will go directly towards onsite community CPR and Basic Life Support trainings.
SPRTA's goal is to promote a healthy community lifestyle and an appreciation of the environment through the development, maintenance, and management of free-to-use recreational trails in Sun Peaks.
