Friday, July 4: Big Sugar

Performing at 9:00pm

Since the 90’s Big Sugar have been a staple on the airwaves and highways with a unique combination of Jamaican rhythms, blues tonality and heavy rock aggression. Songs like “Diggin’ A Hole”, “If I Had My Way”, “Turn the Lights On” and “Roads Ahead” with their Roots Rock Reggae style featuring Gordie Johnson’s signature guitar playing have built a loyal following. Gordie Johnson returns to the stage with new bassist and fellow Austinite Anders Drerup and 22-year-old phenom drummer Root Valach. They have become a seamless unit of deep musicality and soaring vocals providing fans with some of the best Big Sugar shows yet.

Friday, July 4: Philip Sayce

Performing at 7:00pm

Malcolm Gladwell theorized that “greatness” requires 10,000 hours of practical training. A teenage Sayce had easily surpassed this threshold when his hometown hero, legendary guitarist and multi-platinum artist Jeff Healey, caught Sayce playing a ferocious set in downtown Toronto. Within a year, Sayce was touring internationally with Jeff Healey’s band and performing at the world’s most prestigious festivals. He went on to record and tour with Melissa Etheridge, before launching a solo career and opening shows for the likes of ZZ Top and Deep Purple. Sayce is a rare combination of outstanding songwriter, unparalleled guitarist, soulful singer, and electrifying performer.

Saturday, July 5: 54•40

Performing at 9:00pm

Over the course of 40+ years of performing and recording, 54•40 has made their mark on the Canadian music industry and the entire cultural landscape. For those who have followed the band from their humble beginnings in East Vancouver to younger fans that are just discovering the band’s originality, 54•40 shows are extraordinary affairs that bridge gaps between generations through a shared love of music. With decades of hit songs and more in the making, the secret to 54•40's longevity is their ability to redefine and reinvent themselves. The bands newest album release in 2023, West Coast Band, was recorded remotely during the thick of COVID-19 lock-downs and celebrates the common history they share as band members.

Saturday, July 5: Wide Mouth Mason

Performing at 7:00pm

As one of Canada’s most successful rock exports, Wide Mouth Mason are an authority for connoisseurs of thoughtful yet driving guitar music and have stood the test of time again and again. Sometimes, jazz and world music are integrated, as on “Where I Started” (1999), or specific genres may be explored more in-depth, as on the bluesy “I Wanna Go With You”(2019). The fact that the musicians have been on tour with legends as big as the Rolling Stones and ZZ Top speaks to their deserved reputation. Now their ninth studio album Late Night Walking is in the starting block with original members Shaun Verreault on vocals and guitars, and Safwan Javed on percussion and vocals.
