We are actively monitoring regional wildfire smoke and air quality using official weather information together with local air quality monitoring across the resort.
Smoke affecting Sun Peaks is originating from the Brunswick Creek wildfire near Boston Bar. There are currently no active wildfires affecting Sun Peaks Resort or the immediate Sun Peaks community.
The health and safety of our guests, employees and community remains our highest priority. Resort operations continue to be assessed throughout the day, and operational decisions will be made if conditions warrant.
Air quality affects everyone differently. Children, older adults, individuals who are pregnant and those with heart or lung conditions may be more sensitive to wildfire smoke.
We encourage guests to:
Operational decisions are based on a combination of current air quality, visibility, weather forecasts, on-mountain observations and guidance from health and safety authorities. Conditions can change quickly, and updates will be provided if resort operations are affected.
Whether you're visiting for mountain biking, sightseeing, hiking, golf or other outdoor recreation, we encourage you to review current air quality conditions before heading outside. Smoke can affect individuals differently, particularly during prolonged or strenuous activity. Consider reducing the intensity or duration of your activity if you experience discomfort and follow current public health guidance if you have underlying health conditions.
