Winter 2020-21 Season Pass Update

Published June 5, 2020

The world has been a very different place these past few months. We’ve all had to slow down to adjust to the realities of the COVID-19 pandemic, taking each day in stride while we wait to see what unfolds and hope for the best outcomes on the road ahead. For us, this has meant anticipating, evaluating and planning for possible scenarios of when and how we can welcome you back to our special mountain environment again.

We’d like to extend a sincere thank you to all of our pass holders, guests, staff and local residents for your patience. While we’re not out of the woods yet, things are starting to look more promising here in BC for the summer and winter seasons ahead, and we’re looking forward to commencing lift operations once again while following the guidance of health authorities.

As the first step in this process, we’re pleased to announce that season passes for winter 2020-21 will be released for sale the first week of July through our new online store.

Before sales open, we’re providing you with information on what next season’s pass program will look like. Taking everything into consideration, we’ve introduced a price freeze, a returning pass holder credit, added more flexibility, and rolled out a significant new perk for our passes:

Season Passes 2021

Price Freeze

2020 has been a tough year for the economy, so we’re keeping the prices for all of our main Alpine Season Pass categories fixed at last year’s rates. In addition, there are changes on the way for Family passes to provide a better overall product offering. These will be announced when sales open.

Credit for Returning 2019-20 Pass Holders

We know you were looking forward to some great spring skiing last season and we’re as disappointed as you are that things didn’t go as planned. To help make it up to you we’re giving all returning Alpine Season Pass holders a credit of up to $100 towards your winter 2020-21 pass when purchased by September 30, 2020. Exact credit amounts vary based on the type of pass you are buying.

Pass Prices & Credits

Extended Best Buy Deadline

As always, the best price on season passes is available during our Best Buy period. This year’s Best Buy cut-off deadline is extended through September 30, 2020, to make sure you have plenty of time to purchase at the most affordable rate. The Fall Buy deadline will then run until October 31, 2020.

Peace of Mind Program

The future is looking brighter, but these are still uncertain times. To ensure you feel confident about your choice to purchase a pass we’ve introduced a new Peace of Mind program.

First up, we’ve added a free ‘No Questions Asked’ refund policy on all 2020-21 Alpine Season Passes until September 15, 2020. At any time on or before that date you can request a full refund of your pass without penalty and without question, to help you if your circumstances change.

We will also be revisiting the terms of our regular Season Pass Refund and Termination Option, which can be selected at time of purchase, to provide even more protection against personal circumstances outside of your control. If purchased, this policy would take effect after September 15. Details of this program will be released when sales open in July.

Finally, we’ll have a formalized policy in place that sets out what will happen if the resort is forced to close again due to circumstances relating to the global pandemic. Details will be available no later than the September 15 ‘No Questions Asked’ refund policy deadline.

Free Payment Plan

We want to make sure you have plenty of time to make use of our popular free payment plan option, despite the change in dates of the season pass sale this year. We’ll be adjusting the payment plan dates to make sure there is still the option to break up your pass payment into multiple payments. The exact details will be released when passes are made available for sale.

New and Returning Perks

We have exciting news! In case you missed it, Sun Peaks Resort is now a proud member of the Mountain Collective. This means that there’s a brand-new perk for Sun Peaks Alpine Season Pass holders this winter: you get 50% off tickets at all 23 Mountain Collective destinations! This includes fantastic Western Canadian destinations like Revelstoke, Lake Louise, Panorama, and Banff Sunshine, as well as many other premiere ski destinations in North America and around the world.

In addition, plenty of your favourite pass perks are back. You’ll once again score two (2) free day tickets at SilverStar, 50% off day tickets at Whistler Blackcomb, five (5) Sun Peaks buddy passes, a complimentary Nordic Season Pass, and more. A complete, updated perks list for Alpine Season Pass holders will be available when pass sales begin.

We’re excited to share this plan and to kick off the countdown to winter with the start of season pass sales during the first week of July. Stay tuned for the latest Sun Peaks news by signing up to our E Newsletter, or follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
