We’re pleased to offer extended Nordic trail access this spring, giving local cross-country skiers a chance to continue enjoying the trails beyond the official closing date. Updates on full trail network closure will be posted here at a future date. Access to the Nordic trail network requires a valid 2025–26 or 2026–27 Nordic or Alpine season pass, which must always be carried.
Please note: Trails on the Golf Course (Cotton Tail and Village) are closed as of Tuesday, April 7. For the health of our golf course greens and fairways, and for the safety of our maintenance team, it’s critical that the public stay off of the golf course.
Grooming will continue on select Nordic trails, conditions permitting (one to two times per week, or following snowfall if needed). Grooming updates will be posted on Nordic Pulse.
For emergencies, please call Ski Patrol Dispatch at 250.578.5521.
The Nordic grooming trail status below updates in real time. All snowcats are equipped with software that syncs directly with the website trail status and the digital on-mountain grooming boards, ensuring information remains accurate and current. Overnight grooming continues right up until Sun Peaks opens for the day, and may continue during operating hours when required.
A “Groomed with Fresh” status indicates the trail has received 5 cm or more of new snow since its last groom.
Our Daily Grooming PDF is generated once per day and published by 8:00am. While we aim to capture all groomed trails, some may be missed due to the document’s release timing. Therefore, the website and the digital on-mountain grooming boards provide the most accurate, up-to-date trail information.

You may encounter wildlife on Nordic and Backcountry trails at any time. Please ski in pairs.
The lift-accessed Holy Cow trail features several significant downhill sections and is best suited to confident intermediate or advanced Nordic skiers. Guests should be comfortable on intermediate trails throughout the rest of the Sun Peaks network before attempting Holy Cow.
Backcountry trails are neither groomed nor patrolled, and are not recommended for those new to the trail system or new to Nordic skiing. They are operated in conjunction with the Province of BC and the Kamloops Outdoor Club.
Note: Nordic trails Village, McGillivray Lake, and Raven Return are designated as shared use with fat biking. To learn more about Fat Biking in Sun Peaks, click here.

Nordic Pulse is an app based cross country ski trail grooming report system, bringing trail condition reports from ski areas across North America together on one platform, and streamlining grooming reporting for ski areas.
