FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Sun Peaks ramps up for an Easter Weekend finale to the 2025-26 Ski Season
Sun Peaks, BC, March 27, 2026 - With just 11 days remaining in the 2025–26 ski season, Sun Peaks Resort is reminding skiers and snowboarders that it’s still winter in the mountains. A strong alpine snow base shy of 200 cm, recent snowfall, cool temperatures, and a lineup of major events are setting the stage for a vibrant finish to the season.
Following a busy Spring Break period, conditions remain solid across Canada’s second largest ski area. The resort received 13 cm of fresh snow this week, with temperatures remaining below the freezing mark. The forecast calls for a mix of flurries and sunshine— ideal conditions for classic spring skiing.
“Spring is when Sun Peaks comes alive in a different way,” says Christina Antoniak, Director of Communications at Sun Peaks Resort. “You can still get in some fabulous skiing with fresh top-ups of snow, but with a more relaxed, social vibe, signature events, and some of the best value of the season. It’s a perfect time for a last-minute getaway.”
To mark the final stretch, Sun Peaks is offering compelling reasons for visitors to squeeze in one more ski trip. Through the resort’s Worldwide Reciprocal Program, season pass holders from other downhill ski areas can access 50% off lift tickets. Starting March 30, lessons are also available at 50% off, while village retailers now have on offer up to 40% savings on winter gear. Those who have already purchased a season pass for next winter and paid in full, can also ski free the rest of this season.
The season finale builds toward Easter Weekend, when the resort comes alive with Wonder Weekend—a collection of fan-favourite events that celebrate spring skiing culture:
Kicking off closing weekend is the highly anticipated Altitunes Music Festival, presented by Thick As Thieves Entertainment and hosted at the Sun Peaks Centre venue by Tourism Sun Peaks. The nearly sold-out event will draw thousands of electronic music fans and winter recreation enthusiasts to the resort, with performances from global artists including DJs James Hype and Lost Frequencies.
Following the public season wrap-up on Monday, April 6, Sun Peaks will continue to see on-snow activity with the BC Alpine Mega Camp running April 8–19. This private camp brings together athletes and coaches from across the province and beyond, taking advantage of late-season training conditions at the Nancy Greene International Race Centre.
Looking ahead, the resort and broader community are already gearing up for summer, with a calendar of signature events beginning to take shape, including the return of the Canadian National Downhill Mountain Biking Championships and a series of concert weekends presented by Tourism Sun Peaks.
