Sun Peaks has an NHL-sized skating rink within walking distance of the village stroll. Head on over for drop in public skating or ice hockey. Didn’t bring your skates? Skate and hockey stick rentals are available at the rink. Family Fun Nights are held Tuesdays with extra games and complimentary hot chocolate.
The two curving lanes of Tube Time are entertaining for family members both young and old! Hop on the village carpet and get whisked to the top of the tubing area. There’s a fire pit to warm up at between exciting tube time laps. Be sure to pick up your tickets from the Activities Desk before heading up the carpet.
Sun Peaks has over 37 kilometers of impeccably groomed and track set Nordic trails, which are accessible right from the village. The dry, cooler temperatures ensure optimal snow conditions. Venture up the Morrisey Express to take in the breathtaking views of Holy Cow or ski with the entire family—including the dog—on the dog-friendly trail to McGillivray Lake Outpost warming hut.
Whether you want to venture out on your own, or as part of a tour, Sun Peaks’ extensive network of snowshoe trails are a great way to experience our snowy paradise. Don’t forget to pick up a trail map and guide book when purchasing your snowshoe trail day pass. The guide book will help your party identify animal tracks you see along the way, as well as point you in the direction of the popular snow cave and bird feeding station.
If you’re looking for a run that the family can lap all day, it would be none other than our 10-acre Rockstar Energy Terrain Park. This progressive-style park runs top-to-bottom on the Sundance chairlift and starts with easier boxes and PVC pipe features at the top, which the whole family will want to try. All of the features are well marked and easy to maneuver around. The Platter Park, off of the Village Platter, is also available to enjoy up until 7pm Fridays through Sundays and holidays.
Horse Drawn Sleigh Rides
Snuggle under blankets while enjoying the sights on a daylight, sunset or evening horse drawn sleigh ride tour. Kids, teens and adults will all enjoy the relaxing pace and sleigh bells ringing as two gentle draft horses lead the sleigh through the village. Take in the views of the valley and mountains before returning back to the village base.
