Live Music: LooPS

BCs top acoustic-pop duo LooPS will be playing on the Village Stage.

Lead vocalist, Kevin Roy and instrumentalist/vocalist, Jon Fennell (LooPS) have been playing together as a duo since 2019. They mix unique covers with original songs in an acoustic piano-based style. 

Named the Best Band/Singer for both the 2022 and 2023 Kamloops This Week Readers Choice Awards (winners of 6 total awards and runner up for 3 more categories), and in the 2024 Best of Kamloops Awards, winners of the Bronze Medal for Best Band, LooPS have used the last few years to put themselves on the map as not only the Kamloops region, but all of BC’s premiere acoustic-pop duo!

LooPS have played every big event and stage in Kamloops recently, including late evening sets at Ribfest, headlining Overlander’s Day, Oktoberfest at Harper Mountain, and both Scotties Tournament of Hearts and the Memorial Cup. While expanding their following across the province the last few years, LooPS completed a couple impressive feats you may have heard of…July 8th of 2023, LooPS attempted and BROKE the Guinness World Record for most cities playing a concert in 12 hrs (9) all throughout the Vancouver region, and raised $18,402 for the BCCHF in the process, and in October 2024 they had the privilege of opening for international recording artist Forest Blakk for his only Vancouver stop on his North American tour.

With a style best described as what would happen if Ed Sheeran and Lewis Capaldi had a musical baby, LooPS use loop pedals/acoustic guitar for high energy sets (giving the power and energy of a full band on stage) and piano for powerful ballads with soaring harmonies. A LooPS set is truly an experience you must view in person to catch the magic and chemistry the two have on stage!
