Summer Safety & Risk Awareness

Sun Peaks is committed to your safety. There are elements of risk that common sense and personal awareness can help reduce. Sun Peaks Patrol & On-Mountain Emergency

Based in the Health Centre building adjacent to Parking Lot 2 (P2), Sun Peaks Patrol provides emergency response across the resort's recreational areas.

Summer Operations

Patrol is primarily staged to respond within the lift-accessed bike park and hiking trails, but also provides emergency response on the Mt. Morrisey biking and hiking trails and golf course.

Winter Operations

Patrol provides emergency response across Tod Mountain, Sundance Mountain, Morrisey Mountain and the Nordic trail network.

Understanding Bike Park Signage

All routes within the Bike Park are designated by colour-coded trail markers at the start of each descent. Trails with an orange oval indicate freeride trails with man-made features and may require jumping skills.

Bear Aware

The mountains of the area abound with animals free roaming in their natural habitat. While in resort or on the mountain you may encounter a black bear during your stay.

Fire Safety

Sun Peaks Resort has instituted several measures to minimize the risks of inter-face forest fires, as well as structural fires. Please enjoy the mountains but use extreme caution and help preserve our natural environment.
