Ride Into Summer: The 2025 Sun Peaks Bike Park Rundown

Get ready to drop in—summer bike season at Sun Peaks is upon us! Whether you're a seasoned rider or just getting started, there's something for everyone here at one of BC’s best mountain biking destinations. The Sun Peaks Bike Park opens on Saturday, June 14, and operates daily from 10:00am to 7:00pm through Monday, September 1. Park is open daily through 5:00pm through end of September.

1. Trail Updates: What to Look For In the Park

Progression Park: Bigger Blue Vibes

We’re dialing in the welcoming feel of Progression Park by converting the advanced black trail back to a blue. The goal? A zone that truly lives up to its name, for newer DH riders who want to build confidence in an easy-to-access, low-key environment right at the village base.

Bonus: the Pump Track is getting a glow-up too, with an overall design upgrade and a new center lane that’s wider, smoother, and perfect for playful laps or race action.

New Tech on Sundance: Melhouse

Our first hand-built tech trail in the Sundance zone of the park, Melhouse, soft-launched late last summer; this season, we’re planning on building the lower half (check out the trail map!). Expect a proper dose of Sun Peaks’ renowned tech style to complement the machine-built flow trails nearby. More tech is on the horizon, and we’re excited to watch the transformation of Sundance in the years to come.

Bermalade Gets Sweeter

Upper and lower Bermalade in the Sunburst zone of the park are getting some love this summer. We’re widening sections and better spacing out the features to keep your flow and just plain fun.

Dual-Use Alpine Pedal Trails: New Options and Trail Name Update

Say goodbye to the old Altitude name—your alpine pedal/hike adventures are now all about Dr. Feelgood and West Bowl trails. Both lead to the spectacular Tod Lake, and from there, you can either descend the north aspect of Tod Mountain via Dr. Feelgood, taking you into the DH network (Level Up, anyone?) or hike back on that same aspect via Gil’s.

Bonus: Dr. Feelgood is great for e-bikes.

New! Mo’ Riders Connector

This directional connector trail off the lower Sundance zone links the Bike Park to the Mt. Morrisey pedal-access community trail network. It’s opening early to mid-summer—stay tuned!

Brand New Trail Maps

Out with the satellite look, in with the art! Our new summer trail maps—designed by Stefan Bast—showcase the Bike Park, hiking trails, and community bike trail network in a beautiful new illustrated format. Bike Park and hiking maps are available now; pedal-access version coming soon!

Community Trails: Keeping It Tight on Mt. Morrisey

Good news from the Sun Peaks Recreational Trail Association—trail crew is back at it! With the lead returning and another team member joining the squad, you can expect those Morrisey lines to stay dialed all summer long.

Heads-Up: Construction on Sundance Mountain

A municipal water project will commence this summer on Sundance Mountain, which will temporarily affect some DH trails and add some vehicle traffic to the mountain. We’ll communicate any closures as early as possible. Please watch for and respect all additional park signage, for your safety. Thanks for your patience.
