Dog Options

Outdoor adventures are best enjoyed with your furry friend. Knowing no family trip is complete without your fur baby, we've enlisted local pup Bo to create the pawfect itinerary for you and your dog.

Day 1:

Hearthstone

After a nap in the car, it's time to set out and explore Sun Peaks. First, check into your hotel right in the heart of the community. Once your humans have unloaded the car, take a stroll through the village and stop by Roxxy Bomb’s Pet Food + Supplies for a new toy.

Evening

Valley Trail

Having been in the car travelling with your family, I recommend going for a nice walk along the Valley Trail. There are plenty of different routes to explore, new smells, and other doggos to meet. Once you loop the trail, it's time for dinner. Head to Masa's Bar & Grill, the perfect patio to watch bikers descend the mountain while your family has a relaxed meal.

Day 2:

Vertical Cafe Patio

Wake up bright and early and head to my favourite cafe Vertical Cafe for a puppuccino. The outdoor seating area is the perfect spot for people-watching. I guarantee you'll get called a very good boy or girl and get plenty of pats while your family has breakfast.

Morrisey Trail

Now that your belly is full, it's time for a day of adventure. Head to the base of Mt. Morrisey and start exploring the new climb trail, a dual-use trail where your pawrents can hike or bike to the top. Make sure you take in the views and all the mountain smells.

Pro Tip: cool your belly off in the creek at the base of the mountain before heading back to the village.

Bottoms Bar & Grill

Now that you're back in the village, it's time for lunch. Head to the local's favourite Bottoms Bar & Grill. Soak up the sun and meet some local doggos on the patio. Don't worry about being thirsty. The staff are very friendly and always make sure pups have their own water at the table.

Afternoon:

Chez Joes Poutine

Following lunch, run, don't walk to Chez Joe Poutine for a doggie cone. This sweet treat is vanilla sugar-free and topped with an extra surprise. This is a must-do stop for any good boy or gal.

Evening:

Village Stroll

Swing by Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and have your humans pick you up some dipped dog bones. Don't worry, these treats are chocolate free and the perfect snack to chomp on while enjoying an evening of live music from Powder Hounds Patio.

Day 3:

Morning:

Lake

Time for one last adventure before hitting the road. This one is sure to tire you out for your trip home. Head out to McGillivray Lake for some fun in the water. Your humans can bike or hike their way out there or take their car. The lake even has a dock which is pawfect for jumping off and splashing your family.

Pro tipCanoe, kayaks and paddle boards are available for rent if your humans want to enjoy the lake too!
